World Music Bands in the North West

Book world music acts anywhere in the North West

From Southport, Morecambe, Chester, Keswick, Blackburn and Lytham St Annes, the North West has a huge choice of venues and a busy calendar of weddings, themed parties and cultural celebrations. The world music acts on this page cover the whole region, and many play several dates a month within it.

Our listings for the North West take in Blackpool, Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Lancaster, Liverpool and Manchester. Each of those areas has its own page too, which you'll find in the links further down, but the acts here will travel to any of them.

Popular venues across the region include Liverpool Cathedral, The Out Barn, De Vere Cranage Estate, Askham Hall, The Shireburn Arms and Park House Hotel. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we can usually say which acts have played there before.

Across the North West you can choose from ceilidh, Greek, oompah, steel, Bollywood and other world music acts. Most will take a few requests ahead of the day, and many can learn a special song if you ask.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched acts with clients right across the country. The world music acts here all cover the North West and include PA, lighting and travel in the price. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

What to know:

  • Budget £600 to £2,500 for most bookings
  • Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel
  • Travel within the North West is never added on later
  • Many acts offer longer or extra sets if you need them
  • Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Some venues have sound limiters, early finishes or restrictions on where acts can set up. Check these early, as they can decide which line-up is the better fit for your wedding or event.

Expect to pay from around £600 up to £2,500 or more for a larger line-up. The act, the date and your set times make the biggest difference. Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel, so nothing is added later.

Every act's page has video and audio of the performers who would actually play at your wedding or event, a full song list and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to judge the style before you commit.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

It covers themed and cultural acts rather than a standard covers band: Bavarian oompah bands for Oktoberfest, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country acts. Each act's page shows its style and repertoire.

Yes. Ceilidh bands come with a caller who explains and walks guests through each dance before the music starts, so nobody needs to know the steps in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room joining in.

Many can. Oompah bands, pipers and smaller Latin or folk line-ups often play acoustically while moving among guests, which works well for drinks receptions, fun days and festivals. Check the act's page or ask us when you enquire.

Most do. Stage and ceilidh bands bring their own PA; acoustic and roaming acts may need nothing at all. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

For Oktoberfest (September and October), Burns Night, St Patrick's Day and December, book as early as you can — these are the busiest dates for themed acts. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“Played at my venue a couple weeks back and absolutely rocked it! They got the crowd up and going, created an amazing atmosphere and sounded great. An added bonus that they just happen to be lovely people as well. Will definitely have them back and couldn't recommend them enough to other venues or parties!”

“From start to finish the communication from Irving (HireABand) and Max (Badass Brass) have been excellent. On the lead up to the big day Max was very helpful and patient and teh performance itself went down a storm. I would highly recommend both to anyone in the future.”
