World Music Bands in Lancaster

Themed and world music bands for events in Lancaster

If you want an event with real character, a world music band is a great place to start. Acts across Lancaster play Oktoberfest oompah, Scottish and Irish ceilidh, bagpipes, Latin and Cuban sets, Jewish celebration music and country, and they're booked for parties, festivals and corporate events alike.

Popular event venues in Lancaster include The Borough, The Out Barn and Ashton Memorial, Williamson Park, and our world music acts play events across the Lune Valley, Morecambe and Garstang. Tell us your venue and the theme when you enquire and we'll suggest acts that suit both.

World music is a broad category. Some acts are Bavarian oompah bands in lederhosen, others are ceilidh bands with a caller who teaches every dance or pipers who lead a grand entrance, and others play Latin, klezmer or country. Watching a couple of videos is the quickest way to find the one that fits your theme.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched live bands with events of every size. The world music acts listed here all travel to Lancaster, include travel in the price, and arrive with their own sound set-up where it's needed. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • Oompah, ceilidh, pipers, Latin, klezmer, country and other themed acts
  • Sets for a themed party, a full ceilidh evening or a festival slot
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Start with the theme. An Oktoberfest or beer festival suits an oompah band; a Burns Night or St Patrick's party suits a ceilidh band with a caller, or a piper to pipe in the haggis; a summer party or salsa night suits a Latin group. Many acts come in several sizes, from a small roaming line-up to a full stage band.

Most world music bookings fall between about £600 and £2,500. The number of musicians is the biggest factor, followed by the date and how long they play — Oktoberfest season and December are the busiest. Travel is included in the quote, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay.

Rather than a generic demo, each act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio, a song list and client reviews. Between them you'll get a clear sense of the sound and the show well before the day.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

It covers themed and cultural acts rather than a standard covers band: Bavarian oompah bands for Oktoberfest, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country acts. Each act's page shows its style and repertoire.

Yes. Ceilidh bands come with a caller who explains and walks guests through each dance before the music starts, so nobody needs to know the steps in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room joining in.

Many can. Oompah bands, pipers and smaller Latin or folk line-ups often play acoustically while moving among guests, which works well for drinks receptions, fun days and festivals. Check the act's page or ask us when you enquire.

Most do. Stage and ceilidh bands bring their own PA; acoustic and roaming acts may need nothing at all. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

For Oktoberfest (September and October), Burns Night, St Patrick's Day and December, book as early as you can — these are the busiest dates for themed acts. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.
