World Music Bands in Blackpool

Oompah, ceilidh, Latin and world music in Blackpool

A world music band gives an event a theme people remember. In Blackpool, these acts are booked for Oktoberfest nights, Burns Night suppers, St Patrick's Day parties, summer festivals and themed corporate events — anywhere the music is part of the occasion rather than just the soundtrack to it.

Whether your event is near the Promenade, Fleetwood and Lytham St Annes or elsewhere in Blackpool, the acts on this page cover the whole area. Local venues include Grand Hotel Blackpool, The Winter Gardens and Park House Hotel — if you're planning a themed night, it's worth checking where a band would set up and whether roaming around the room is possible.

World music is a broad category. Some acts are Bavarian oompah bands in lederhosen, others are ceilidh bands with a caller who teaches every dance or pipers who lead a grand entrance, and others play Latin, klezmer or country. Watching a couple of videos is the quickest way to find the one that fits your theme.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched live bands with events of every size. The world music acts listed here all travel to Blackpool, include travel in the price, and arrive with their own sound set-up where it's needed. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • Oompah, ceilidh, pipers, Latin, klezmer, country and other themed acts
  • Sets for a themed party, a full ceilidh evening or a festival slot
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Start with the theme. An Oktoberfest or beer festival suits an oompah band; a Burns Night or St Patrick's party suits a ceilidh band with a caller, or a piper to pipe in the haggis; a summer party or salsa night suits a Latin group. Many acts come in several sizes, from a small roaming line-up to a full stage band.

Most world music bookings fall between about £600 and £2,500. The number of musicians is the biggest factor, followed by the date and how long they play — Oktoberfest season and December are the busiest. Travel is included in the quote, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay.

Every act's page has video and audio of the musicians who would actually play, their repertoire and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to check the style and the fun factor before you commit.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

It covers themed and cultural acts rather than a standard covers band: Bavarian oompah bands for Oktoberfest, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country acts. Each act's page shows its style and repertoire.

Yes. Ceilidh bands come with a caller who explains and walks guests through each dance before the music starts, so nobody needs to know the steps in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room joining in.

Many can. Oompah bands, pipers and smaller Latin or folk line-ups often play acoustically while moving among guests, which works well for drinks receptions, fun days and festivals. Check the act's page or ask us when you enquire.

Most do. Stage and ceilidh bands bring their own PA; acoustic and roaming acts may need nothing at all. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

For Oktoberfest (September and October), Burns Night, St Patrick's Day and December, book as early as you can — these are the busiest dates for themed acts. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“We just wanted to say a massive thank you for Saturday!! You guys were absolutely awesome, all of our guests absolutely loved it and had an amazing time!! Lots of the guys down from Scotland were saying that was the best ceilidh band they have seen and everyone since has been telling us how much of a great time they had and how well called it was - even had a few requests for your details from guests!!
Thank you so much”

“The guys were very adaptable about playing outside (covered but cool courtyard despite the heaters) and kindly played on for a short time after the agreed hour to allow guests to go into dinner.
We hope they enjoyed their cigars.”

“Played at my venue a couple weeks back and absolutely rocked it! They got the crowd up and going, created an amazing atmosphere and sounded great. An added bonus that they just happen to be lovely people as well. Will definitely have them back and couldn't recommend them enough to other venues or parties!”
