Wedding Bands in Newcastle upon Tyne

Wedding bands in Newcastle upon Tyne

We've been booking live music for weddings since 1999, and every act on this page is one we represent and know well — a covers band, a party band, a function band, whatever you'd call it, the job's the same: read the room and get people dancing. You can hear each one before you decide, read genuine reviews from couples who've actually booked them, and check your date without ever picking up the phone.

Newcastle upon Tyne has real range for a wedding: converted farm buildings and breweries on the edge of the city, grand hotels and civic venues in the centre, and well-loved venues around Jesmond, Ponteland and the Tyne Valley that couples come back to again and again — places like Jesmond Dene House, Matfen Hall and Close House among them. Wherever you're getting married here, there's usually a band on this page who already knows the room.

That range asks a slightly different thing of the band each time. A grand hotel or a country estate wants a five- or six-piece with a proper PA built to fill the space; a smaller venue or an intimate marquee does just as well with the same band scaled to a four-piece, without losing any of the energy. Some of Newcastle's grandest venues run their own noise conditions, so it's always worth checking the licence before you book — we can usually tell you what to expect if we've played the room before.

On cost: most Newcastle weddings book a four- or five-piece for somewhere between £1,400 and £2,600. What actually moves that number is the size of the line-up, the day of the week, the time of year, and how far the band's travelling. A Saturday in July will cost more than a Friday in November, and a three-piece will always come in under a seven-piece with horns. We quote against your real date and your real venue rather than a list price, and that quote includes PA, lighting and the band's travel to wherever you're getting married in Newcastle — there's no separate mileage charge to budget for.

Ready to book one? Just tell us the date and the venue, and we'll come back with whichever of our acts are free and genuinely suit the room. If you'd like to see a band play live before committing to anything, just ask — we run showcases, and can sometimes get you into a public date too. Nothing's held until it's confirmed in writing, but once it is, that's exactly who turns up.

FAQs

Most Newcastle upon Tyne weddings book a four- or five-piece for somewhere between £1,400 and £2,600, all in including PA, lighting and travel. What moves the figure is the line-up size, the day of the week and the season.
All of it — Newcastle city centre, Seaton Burn, Ouseburn, Hadrian's Wall and the wider Tyne Valley and everywhere between, plus the surrounding towns just over the county line.
Some of the grandest venues run their own noise conditions or curfews, so it's worth confirming the licence when you book — we can usually tell you what to expect if we've played there before.
Yes, in almost every case — tell us the song when you book and we'll confirm it.
Twelve to eighteen months for a Saturday in peak season; off-peak dates and weekdays hold later.
Often, yes — we run private showcases, and every act has video and real reviews.

“My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of The Tommy Guns. Their performance at our wedding was the perfect balance of indie swagger and crow pleasing favourites. The band themselves are friendly and relaxed. The inclusion of a handful of pop-punk anthems was greatly appreciated by many of the guests old enough to know better.”

“Stereo Jack were fantastic at our 2017 New Year’s Eve Gala. From the moment they started playing, our guests headed to the dancefloor and were entertained all evening with a very energetic and fantastic performance from the band. A big thank you from the Hockwold Hall team!”

“Fantastic band, on time and great communication before the wedding. They played loads of great songs that appealed to all ages of the audience and had tailored the latter part of the set to our music taste, when the alcohol had been flowing! Kickback were well rehearsed and played tight together. They sounded great and had set up like a group that knew what they were doing. Well worth the modest fee for their professional performance. Would highly recommend!”

“The band were absolutely fantastic and kept everyone dancing throughout the night. They were very friendly and were great when the groom joined in the singing. Great guys and great musicians.”

“What a great bunch of guys. You were amazing on our wedding day 18th May 2018 at The Tithe Barn in Petersfield. Very polite and sounded amazing great entertainment. We have had endless comments from all our guest.
I am still waiting for my form to come through to join the band as I was promised!”
