Wedding Bands in London

Live wedding bands for London weddings

From riverside terraces along the Thames to the Georgian squares of Richmond and the parkland around Hampton Court, London gives couples a wide range of rooms to fill, and every one sounds different once it's full of guests and dancing.

Hireaband has been booking live wedding music since 1999, and we know London well: the capital's mix of grand hotels, warehouses and garden venues, and the venues built into them. Every band listed here travels to London as standard, brings its own PA and lighting, and sets up and clears away on the night.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: £1,400 to £2,600, depending on line-up, date and season
  • Always included: PA system, stage lighting and travel costs, in every quote
  • Line-ups from three-piece to eight-piece, with playlist music between sets
  • Most couples book 12 to 18 months ahead for a summer Saturday
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Room size matters more than guest numbers. A four or five-piece suits most London function rooms comfortably, filling a dance floor without overwhelming the space. Bigger halls and marquees carry a six to eight-piece well, where brass or a second vocalist adds real weight. Smaller, more intimate venues often work best with a trio and a longer playlist between sets. Tell us your venue and we can usually say what has worked there before.

Most couples spend between £1,400 and £2,600. The number of musicians is the biggest factor, followed by the day and the time of year — a Thursday in January can cost less than a Saturday in September, and there is often value in an off-peak date if your budget is tight. PA, lighting and any travel costs are included in the quote you receive, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay.

Every band's page carries video and audio of that exact line-up, so you can see the band in action and hear the musicians who would actually play at your wedding, rather than a generic demo — alongside their full song list. Underneath are written reviews from couples who have already booked them, often at venues you will recognise. Between the videos, the set list and the feedback, you can form a clear picture of the evening well before you commit.

Use the instant quote button on this page and enter your date and venue to see pricing and availability straight away. Once you've chosen a band, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day itself. Every booking comes with a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the wedding day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

Most London weddings book a four- or five-piece for somewhere between £1,400 and £2,600, all in including PA, lighting and travel. What moves the figure is the line-up size, the day of the week and the season.
All of it — South Kensington, Teddington, Eltham, Kew and Covent Garden and everywhere between, plus the surrounding towns and villages just over the county line.
Some of the grandest venues run their own noise conditions or curfews, so it's worth confirming the licence when you book — we can usually tell you what to expect if we've played there before.
Yes, in almost every case — tell us the song when you book and we'll confirm it.
Twelve to eighteen months for a Saturday in peak season; off-peak dates and weekdays hold later.
Often, yes — we run private showcases, and every act has video and real reviews.

“Simply superb. Played my 70th party with an age range from 3 to 80. Not only got everyone dancing but everyone, but everyone, said "what a great band". Excellent musicians and extremely nice guys. If in doubt – hire them!”

“Stereo Jack provided a first class performance throughout the function. Highly skilled and flexible musicians, they played requests throughout and played an extensive repertoire to cover various genres from the "90s theme". I cannot recommend this band highly enough.”

“The band were amazing! It was the best choice we made booking Tommy & Sons/The Tommy Guns. They communicated well in the run up to the wedding & when arriving double checked the plan for the evening. Everyone commented how much they enjoyed them. Thanks so much”
