Roaming Bands in the North West

Roaming bands across the North West

Whether you're planning a wedding or event in a city-centre hotel or a country house miles from anywhere, roaming bands in the North West cover the whole region. This page brings together acts that play everywhere from Preston, Morecambe, Keswick, Knutsford, Southport and Lytham St Annes, so you can compare them side by side.

Our listings for the North West take in Blackpool, Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Lancaster, Liverpool and Manchester. Each of those areas has its own page too, which you'll find in the links further down, but the acts here will travel to any of them.

Venues across the North West that our acts know well include The Villa and Lancaster House Hotel, Hidden River Barn and Arley Hall & Gardens, and Royal Live Suite in the Liver Building and Grand Hotel Blackpool. Every venue has its own space, power supply and finish time, and we'll check those with the act for you.

Across the North West you can choose from acoustic roaming duos and trios, swing and jazz groups and walkabout brass bands that move around the room playing to small groups of guests. Most will take a few requests ahead of the day, and many can learn a special song if you ask.

We've been booking roaming bands since 1999, and every act on this page travels across the North West. Travel is built into the quote, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: £800 to £2,500, depending on line-up, date and how long the act plays
  • Always included: travel, in every quote
  • Acts travel to venues right across the North West
  • Summer Saturdays and December dates book up first
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Most acts perform two or three sets, with playlist music or a break in between. Share your running order when you enquire, including any special moments, and we'll build the quote around it.

Expect to pay from around £800 up to £2,500 or more for a larger line-up. The act, the date and your set times make the biggest difference. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Every act's page has video and audio of the performers who would actually play at your wedding or event, a full song list and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to judge the style before you commit.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

A roaming band plays acoustically while moving around the room or garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time rather than performing from a stage. They're ideal for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events where guests are mingling.

Usually not. Most roaming acts play fully acoustic, so they need no stage, PA or power. If they also play a static set with amplification, they'll let you know what they need.

Yes, and many bookings are outdoors. It's worth agreeing a covered spot with the venue in case of rain, and roaming acts can move inside quickly if the weather changes.

From around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two or three sets of 30 to 45 minutes, which covers a typical wedding drinks reception. Longer bookings, or a mix of roaming and static sets, can be arranged when you enquire.

Yes. Many couples book a roaming act for the drinks reception and a separate band or DJ for the evening. We can quote for both together.

“From start to finish communication with Ian and the band members was great. They were very attentive and paid close attention to our wishes prior to the event. On the night itself this paid off as they catered to every detail and request we made. Their performance on the night was fantastic! All night myself and our guests were on our feet and I received countless compliments on the band. They're very talented at what they do and sounded great. They completely made our wedding reception! Thank you x”

“We couldn't be happier with our choice to book the Central Park band for our wedding day. From a logistics standpoint, they were highly professional, organized, and easy to communicate with. As for the performance, they were phenomenal. The unique roaming sets during the drinks reception were a massive hit and set us up perfectly for the rest of the our day. If you are looking for an exceptional entertainment for your wedding day, book Central Park. They are worth every penny!”
