Roaming Bands in Lancashire

Book a roaming band in Lancashire

A roaming band brings the music to your guests rather than asking them to come to the stage. The musicians move around the room or the garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time, so everyone gets their own moment of live music. In Lancashire, roaming bands are booked for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events.

Popular event venues in Lancashire include Stanley House, The Villa, Wrea Green and West Tower, and our roaming bands play weddings and events across Preston, Burnley and Chorley. Tell us your venue and where guests will gather when you enquire and we'll suggest acts that suit.

Not every roaming act does the same job. A duo can move quietly between tables and small groups, a trio or four-piece fills a large lawn, and a brass band makes a real entrance. Knowing where your guests will be makes the choice much easier.

We've been booking live bands since 1999, and every roaming act on this page covers Lancashire. Travel is built into the quote, the band brings what it needs to be heard, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • The band moves around the room, playing to small groups of guests at a time
  • No stage and usually no power needed
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Most roaming acts play in sets of 30 to 45 minutes. Rather than staying in one place, they move around the room, stop with a group of guests for a song or two, then move on to the next. Many can also play a static set during a meal or on a terrace, so mention it if you'd like both.

Expect to pay from around £800 for a smaller act up to £2,500 or more for a larger band. Line-up size matters most, then the date and extras such as an extra set during the meal. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Rather than a generic demo, each act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio, a song list and client reviews. Between them you'll get a clear sense of the sound and the show well before the day.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

A roaming band plays acoustically while moving around the room or garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time rather than performing from a stage. They're ideal for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events where guests are mingling.

Usually not. Most roaming acts play fully acoustic, so they need no stage, PA or power. If they also play a static set with amplification, they'll let you know what they need.

Yes, and many bookings are outdoors. It's worth agreeing a covered spot with the venue in case of rain, and roaming acts can move inside quickly if the weather changes.

From around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two or three sets of 30 to 45 minutes, which covers a typical wedding drinks reception. Longer bookings, or a mix of roaming and static sets, can be arranged when you enquire.

Yes. Many couples book a roaming act for the drinks reception and a separate band or DJ for the evening. We can quote for both together.

“Unbelievable band, really made our wedding special and would 100% recommend! All our guests absolutely loved it and we can’t wait to hopefully book them again in the future!!”

“Andy and I would like to say a massive thank you to both of you. You were exactly what we wanted and everyone has been saying how fab you were! The manager at Drapers Hall has even said he’d like you back there - not sure how you’d feel about the journey! You really made the evening, so once again, many thanks!”

“I just wanted to say a big thank you to the band for last weekend. We are so happy that we chose you for our special day and absolutely thrilled with both performances. We really appreciated the extra effort to rehearse with our friend Rosie which just made the day for us. She was the first first to introduce Jack and I so it felt incredible to have her singing with the band for the first dance at the wedding. Please pass on our thanks to the rest of the band, they absolutely made the night and we had a great time at the wedding”

“We both felt your band was a great addition to our party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the music you chose and we would recommend you anytime! Best regards to you and your band mates and hope to see you another time”

“We had Tommy & Sons for our wedding a year ago and I’m so glad we did. They were incredible. Really lovely people who interacted with our guests perfectly and had everyone dancing all night. Their vibe fitted our wedding theme spot on. Would highly recommend them to anyone!”

“You and your music was just the magic we needed on Saturday afternoon! Many thanks indeed for giving us such a treat and getting our party started, against that damp and cool background too! The tunes were all terrific and you were both so calm, warm and patient with us all. I hope there'll be another opportunity to hear you play again soon.”
