Mumford & Sons Style Wedding Bands in Wiltshire

Foot-stomping folk wedding bands in Wiltshire

Folk-rock bands are one of the most popular choices for barn and marquee weddings. Wedding bands across Wiltshire bring banjo, mandolin, fiddle and double bass, often play an acoustic set during the drinks reception, then turn the evening into a full-on foot-stomping party.

Wiltshire has a wide choice of wedding venues, from Barford Park Barn and Winkworth Farm to Ashley Wood Farm. Our folk-rock wedding bands travel right across the area, including Chippenham, Marlborough and Swindon, so a festival-style wedding is never out of reach.

Folk-rock bands vary in style. Some stick close to the Mumford & Sons sound with banjo and stomp box, some lean towards bluegrass and country, and others add a Celtic or Irish twist. Watching a couple of videos is the quickest way to find the one that fits your event.

We've been booking live bands since 1999, and every folk-rock wedding band on this page covers Wiltshire. Travel is built into the quote, the band brings what it needs to be heard, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £1,000 for a smaller band to £3,000 or more for a larger line-up, depending on date and set times
  • Mumford-style folk, bluegrass, hoedown and folk-rock covers
  • Acoustic reception sets and full evening party sets
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Check the room and any sound limiter before you choose. Folk-rock bands can play quieter than a typical covers band, which helps at venues with a limiter, but the full evening set still needs power and floor space.

Expect to pay from around £1,000 for a smaller band up to £3,000 or more for a larger line-up. Line-up size matters most, then the date and extras such as an acoustic reception set. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Every act's page has video and audio of the musicians who would actually play, their repertoire and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to check the style and the atmosphere before you commit.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

It's a folk-rock band built around acoustic instruments like banjo, mandolin, fiddle and acoustic guitar, with a driving beat from a kick drum or stomp box. They play folk anthems and folk-style versions of pop and rock hits.

Most can. Many bands offer an unplugged set for the drinks reception, often moving among guests, before their full evening set. Mention it when you enquire and we'll include it in the quote.

Yes. Bands bring their own PA and lighting for the evening set, and acoustic sets need little or nothing. The full band needs floor space and power nearby, so check both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £1,000 for a smaller band to £3,000 or more for a larger line-up. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

It's one of the most popular choices. The acoustic instruments and foot-stomping energy suit barns, marquees and outdoor venues, and the sound works well in rooms where a louder band might struggle.

Yes. Most folk-rock bands play folk-style versions of pop, rock and chart hits alongside folk anthems, so there's something for every guest. Each act's song list shows exactly what they cover.

“We just wanted to pass on our thanks for the incredible performance you gave at our wedding on Saturday. From the first song (amazing – do you have a recording of this?) to the last, you helped us throw the party of our lives and believe me when I say EVERYONE has been talking about how awesome the music was. We’ll certainly be recommending you to one and all for any future events. Hopefully, once we manage to recover financially from the wedding (ha!), we can have you and the guys play at another event in the future for us.”

“Tommy & Sons were absolutely brilliant. We hired them for our wedding as we wanted the folk style music and they delivered and then some. Our first dance was amazing, and hats off to them for learning it as it was a very niche song that we've only found available on Youtube, they absolutely nailed it. Not only did they deliver exceptional performances, which were commented on over and over by the guests, they were also a really nice bunch of lads. At one point after set up, our 2 1/2 year old daughter decided she wanted to have a go on the drums and they were so accommodating of her. If you're in 2 minds as to whether to book them, just do it, you will not be disappointed”

“Hired the band for our School Burns Night and was blown away by their professionalism and performance! They had all our staff on their feet to dance the night away. Lovely friendly guys, would not hesitate to book them again! Cannot recommend them highly enough!”

““Buskers & Sons are the most brilliant band!! They are organised, easy to deal with, lovely people and they know how to rock a party. There was a fantastic mix of tunes on the evening, some great classics, soulful stuff and music that made everybody want to dance. Their music is thoughtful and uplifting and they are all really talented musicians. They all changed instruments and the music never got boring. Lots of our wedding guests commented on how much they enjoyed the music, at the end of the evening the dance floor was full. Choosing the band for a wedding is a big decision and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Buskers & Sons!””

“A huge, huge thank you from all of us here for your tremendous music on Saturday night. You were brilliant! You chose great songs to play which got lots of people up dancing and made the party go with a swing. I had many super comments and feedback about you. We were really thrilled we had asked you to cover the evening. Thank you for talking me through the microphone, too. It worked fine. We appreciated your fantastic music so much and will definitely pass your details on to anyone wanting a band. Please thank the others for me. We might see you again at friends’ events. If so, we will come and say hello!”

“They were absolutely incredible. The quality of the performance was every bit as good (if not better than) the videos on the website, but far more importantly was how amazing they were as people. The guys were all wonderful to have at the wedding - fun, professional and able to read the crowd like only the best bands can. We had a full dance floor all night (with the exception of a couple of tracks dancing in the rain, fully supported by the band themselves!) We cannot recommend them enough!”
