Irish Bands in the South West

Book Irish bands anywhere in the South West

The South West covers a lot of ground, from Clifton, Swindon, Gloucester, Exeter, Poole and Truro. Our Irish bands travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding or event is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for weddings, St Patrick's Day parties and family celebrations.

This region page covers Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. If you already know which area your venue is in, the links below take you to the page for that area, with venues and acts picked for it.

Venues across the South West that our acts know well include Nailsea Tithe Barn and Bowood House & Gardens, Lapstone Barn and Higher Eggbeer Farm, and Lulworth Castle and Eden Project. Every venue has its own space, power supply and finish time, and we'll check those with the act for you.

The category covers traditional trad and céilí bands, Irish party bands and Irish singers. Their pages show exactly what each one plays, so you can match the act to your guests and your venue.

We've been booking Irish bands since 1999, and every act on this page travels across the South West. PA, lighting and travel are built into the quote, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

At a glance:

  • Most Irish bands cost between £600 and £2,500
  • PA, lighting and travel are included in the price you're quoted
  • One page covering every area of the South West
  • Popular acts book up early for busy dates, so enquire soon
  • A 14-day change-of-mind refund comes with every booking

The South West is a large area, so it's worth mentioning your venue's exact location when you enquire. Acts based nearby often have more availability and more experience of local venues, and we'll point you towards them.

Expect to pay from around £600 up to £2,500 or more for a larger line-up. The act, the date and your set times make the biggest difference. Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel, so nothing is added later.

Each act's page carries real video, audio, a song list and reviews from previous clients. A couple of clips will tell you far more about how an act works a room than any description can.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

The category covers traditional trad groups, céilí bands with a caller, Irish folk and ballad singers, and Celtic rock and Irish party bands that also play modern covers. Each act's page shows its style, line-up and song list.

Yes. Céilí bands come with a caller who explains each dance and walks guests through the steps, so nobody needs to know them in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room dancing together.

Most do. Full bands bring their own PA and lighting; acoustic duos and trios need very little. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a solo singer or duo to £2,500 or more for a full band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most acts are happy to learn a special request with enough notice, whether that's a traditional air for the ceremony, a ballad for the first dance or a family favourite. Mention it when you enquire.

As early as you can. St Patrick's weekend is the busiest time of year for Irish acts, and the best bands are often booked months ahead. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“We would like to thank Karl and the team for a fantastic evening, they were professional, entertaining, fun and easy to follow the dance moves. The communication was also great from the band, always taking our comments into consideration. It was a fabulous evening reception and we would strongly recommend to our friends and wider family! Thank you!”

“I was dubious booking before I had heard them properly but was THRILLED with their performance. They made the evening, they were friendly, lively, play every type of music and a proper treat. I would highly recommend them and now have to find an excuse for another party to get them back a second time! Thank you Flying Finns!”

“We just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much to you and the rest of Lanigans Shindig for playing a fantastic gig at our wedding last month! We had an absolutely amazing time, and you guys were the perfect end to the perfect day. We hope you had as much fun as we did, everyone thought you were brilliant. Thank you too, for the wonderful collection of CD's. It's a lovely reminder of the day.”

“The Natural Born Sinners were simply outstanding, from the word go they played a high tempo, high energy set. Feedback from guests has been absolutely quality. So glad we had them perform for us and make our night one we won't forget. Many thanks again!”

“Declan Daniel was fantastic! Wonderful performer, so professional, and a crowd pleaser! He read the room and chose his songs accordingly. It was a really personal performance.”

“I booked the Scene for my Sons Wedding, I was a bit worried that their style of music wouldn't get everyone on the dance floor but how wrong could I have been? The dance floor was full all night and the whole family have a lifetime of memories. Thanks, Lads!”
