World Music Bands in the West Midlands

World music acts across the West Midlands

The West Midlands covers a lot of ground, from Worcester, Warwick, Hereford, Telford, Leamington Spa and Lichfield. Our world music acts travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding or event is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for weddings, themed parties and cultural celebrations.

This region page covers Birmingham, Coventry, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. If you already know which area your venue is in, the links below take you to the page for that area, with venues and acts picked for it.

Popular venues across the region include Brockencote Hall, Blackwell Grange, Lyde Arundel, Rowton Castle, Alderson House and Foxtail Barns Wedding Venue. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we can usually say which acts have played there before.

The category covers ceilidh, Greek, oompah, steel, Bollywood and other world music acts. Their pages show exactly what each one plays, so you can match the act to your guests and your venue.

We've been booking world music acts since 1999, and every act on this page travels across the West Midlands. PA, lighting and travel are built into the quote, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

At a glance:

  • Most world music acts cost between £600 and £2,500
  • PA, lighting and travel are included in the price you're quoted
  • One page covering every area of the West Midlands
  • Popular acts book up early for busy dates, so enquire soon
  • A 14-day change-of-mind refund comes with every booking

The West Midlands is a large area, so it's worth mentioning your venue's exact location when you enquire. Acts based nearby often have more availability and more experience of local venues, and we'll point you towards them.

Expect to pay from around £600 up to £2,500 or more for a larger line-up. The act, the date and your set times make the biggest difference. Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel, so nothing is added later.

Each act's page carries real video, audio, a song list and reviews from previous clients. A couple of clips will tell you far more about how an act works a room than any description can.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

It covers themed and cultural acts rather than a standard covers band: Bavarian oompah bands for Oktoberfest, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country acts. Each act's page shows its style and repertoire.

Yes. Ceilidh bands come with a caller who explains and walks guests through each dance before the music starts, so nobody needs to know the steps in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room joining in.

Many can. Oompah bands, pipers and smaller Latin or folk line-ups often play acoustically while moving among guests, which works well for drinks receptions, fun days and festivals. Check the act's page or ask us when you enquire.

Most do. Stage and ceilidh bands bring their own PA; acoustic and roaming acts may need nothing at all. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

For Oktoberfest (September and October), Burns Night, St Patrick's Day and December, book as early as you can — these are the busiest dates for themed acts. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“Congratulations on an amazing show. You really know how to put spectacular fizz into thousands of people. The musical arrangements are superb, the timing and presentation is a joy to behold and the energetic insanity of the front man is jaw dropping and wonderful fun. Brilliant.”

“"The Penny Farthings recently performed at our building a creative nation national launch event at the Southbank Centre and they were outstanding. They were talented, fun and a major talking point for the evening. The feedback from our guests on the evening was excellent."”

“We just wanted to say a massive thank you for Saturday!! You guys were absolutely awesome, all of our guests absolutely loved it and had an amazing time!! Lots of the guys down from Scotland were saying that was the best ceilidh band they have seen and everyone since has been telling us how much of a great time they had and how well called it was - even had a few requests for your details from guests!!
Thank you so much”

“What can I say about the Insane Pipes? Quite simply they brought a huge smile to everyone's face with their performance on the Main Stage at this years Wessex Folk Festival was one of the highlights of the festival. Of course you can hear them from a long distance away, but that would not do justice to what are a great band of musicians. Their performance was one of the highlights of the festival and they had the crowd on their feet wanting more from their very first number to the last. This was a real treat by a tight unit who know how to play their instruments and work an audience. If you get the chance go see the band as it is well worth it ‬”

“The guys were very adaptable about playing outside (covered but cool courtyard despite the heaters) and kindly played on for a short time after the agreed hour to allow guests to go into dinner.
We hope they enjoyed their cigars.”
