World Music Bands in the South West

World music acts covering the whole of the South West

The South West covers a lot of ground, from Gloucester, Swindon, Falmouth, Plymouth, Clifton and Bath. Our world music acts travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding or event is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for weddings, themed parties and cultural celebrations.

Our listings for the South West take in Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. Each of those areas has its own page too, which you'll find in the links further down, but the acts here will travel to any of them.

Venues across the South West that our acts know well include Kingscote Barn and Barford Park Barn, Launcells Barton and Rockbeare Manor, and Barley Wood House and The Roman Baths. Every venue has its own space, power supply and finish time, and we'll check those with the act for you.

The category covers ceilidh, Greek, oompah, steel, Bollywood and other world music acts. Their pages show exactly what each one plays, so you can match the act to your guests and your venue.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched acts with clients right across the country. The world music acts here all cover the South West and include PA, lighting and travel in the price. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

What to know:

  • Budget £600 to £2,500 for most bookings
  • Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel
  • Travel within the South West is never added on later
  • Many acts offer longer or extra sets if you need them
  • Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund

The South West is a large area, so it's worth mentioning your venue's exact location when you enquire. Acts based nearby often have more availability and more experience of local venues, and we'll point you towards them.

Smaller line-ups typically start from around £600, while bigger acts can reach £2,500 or more. Summer Saturdays and December are the busiest dates. The price in your quote includes PA, lighting and travel, so it won't change once you've booked.

Rather than a generic demo, every act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio and a song list. Underneath are reviews from clients, often at venues you'll recognise.

The instant quote button gives you a price and availability for your date straight away. From there, we manage the contract and deposit and keep you updated until the event. Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and there's an emergency contact line on the day in case anything needs sorting.

FAQs

It covers themed and cultural acts rather than a standard covers band: Bavarian oompah bands for Oktoberfest, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country acts. Each act's page shows its style and repertoire.

Yes. Ceilidh bands come with a caller who explains and walks guests through each dance before the music starts, so nobody needs to know the steps in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room joining in.

Many can. Oompah bands, pipers and smaller Latin or folk line-ups often play acoustically while moving among guests, which works well for drinks receptions, fun days and festivals. Check the act's page or ask us when you enquire.

Most do. Stage and ceilidh bands bring their own PA; acoustic and roaming acts may need nothing at all. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

For Oktoberfest (September and October), Burns Night, St Patrick's Day and December, book as early as you can — these are the busiest dates for themed acts. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.
