Wedding Entertainment in the South West

Book wedding acts anywhere in the South West

Finding the right wedding act is easier when you can see every option in one place. This page covers all of the South West, from Taunton, Exeter, Clifton, Cheltenham, Poole and Salisbury, and every act listed travels to venues across the region for ceremonies, drinks receptions and evening parties.

Across Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire, the wedding acts listed here play ceremonies, drinks receptions and evening parties. Use the area links lower down if you'd like a list narrowed to one part of the South West.

Popular venues across the region include Priston Mill, ANRÁN at Tidwell Farm, Goldney Hall, Cripps Barn, Symondsbury Tithe Barn and Grittleton House. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we can usually say which acts have played there before.

Not every wedding act does the same job. Within this category you'll find wedding bands, DJs, solo singers, acoustic duos, string quartets, harpists, magicians and roaming acts, and knowing the feel you want for your wedding makes the choice much easier.

Hireaband has been booking live entertainment since 1999. Every act listed here covers the South West, and travel, plus PA and lighting where relevant are included in the quote you receive. Use the instant quote button on this page to check prices and availability for your date.

At a glance:

  • Most wedding acts cost between £300 and £4,000
  • Travel, plus PA and lighting where relevant are included in the price you're quoted
  • One page covering every area of the South West
  • Popular acts book up early for busy dates, so enquire soon
  • A 14-day change-of-mind refund comes with every booking

Start with the space and the guest numbers. A smaller line-up suits an intimate room or a venue with a sound limiter, while a larger act fills a ballroom or marquee. Tell us the venue and numbers and we'll suggest what tends to work.

Most bookings fall between £300 and £4,000. The size of the line-up is the biggest factor, followed by the date and how long the act plays. Travel, plus PA and lighting where relevant are included in the quote, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay, wherever you are in the South West.

Every act's page has video and audio of the performers who would actually play at your wedding, a full song list and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to judge the style before you commit.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

Wedding Entertainment is the full range — live bands, solo singers, duos, acoustic musicians and more — so you can compare every option in one place rather than committing to one format first.

It varies a lot by format — a solo singer or acoustic duo typically starts from around £300, whereas a live band can be anything from £1,200 all the way to £4,000 and over, depending on line-up size. Travel is always included in every quote.

Yes — solo acts and duos are one of the most popular choices for smaller weddings, ceremonies or where budget or space is limited, and they're booked through the same instant-quote process.

Yes, every act listed here travels to the South West as standard, with travel costs already included in the quote you receive.

Many acoustic acts and duos can cover ceremony music as well as an evening set — check each act's own page for what's included, or ask us directly when you enquire.

Most couples book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday — earlier is generally safer the bigger the act, since full bands get booked up first.

“Eccentric Pony were absolutely incredible! I don’t think we could have found a better band to play at our wedding reception. They transformed the evening into a night to remember. All of our guests have been telling us how amazing the band was and how much they enjoyed them. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a high energy, professional band. All I can say is a huge thankyou to Jimmy and the rest of the band members for making our wedding reception perfect!”

“The band, The Nicholas McDonald band, played at my daughter's wedding and I must say we were all very impressed. The music was fantastic and the volume was just right too which was very important to me as we had some older guests who normally don't enjoy live music. Nicholas as so nice to everyone and the band were real gentlemen. They sounded great and really added to Claire and Phillip's big day.”

“We had a fantastic night and everyone, and I mean everyone, was raving about Crawford and the boys! I am sure you will have seen his rendition of "Caruso" (in memory of my late husband) ....just something else!! ...as I said on my fb post, I believe there is NO other band on the circuit who could have been presented with a famous Italian song a few weeks before the wedding, learn it, deliver it and move all the Italians to tears and everyone else there.. Outstanding !!”

“Andy played during our wedding ceremony and drinks reception and he was absolutely incredible. Walking down the aisle to Andy playing a soft version of my favourite song is something il never forget and it was absolutely no bother for him to learn the song for us. During the drinks reception he played such a wide range of different songs and his voice is just amazing! Such a talent and really made our wedding extra special. Thanks so much Andy, we could listen to you play all day!”

“Karl and the band were excellent. I was apprehensive about having a Céilidh for the wedding as a number of our guests had never done one before but Karl was really good at explaining the moves and the guests absolutely loved it. It was a real feature of our wedding that everyone will remember for years to come. Thank you Hickory Smoke, I would recommend you to anyone.”

(5)

“The band were incredible for our wedding reception, they were able to read the room well and the dance floor always had someone on it throwing their moves. Thank you so much for making our day that little bit more special.”
