Roaming Bands in the South East

Roaming bands covering the whole of the South East

The South East covers a lot of ground, from Newport, Eastbourne, Henley-on-Thames, Canterbury, Winchester and Reading. Our roaming bands travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding or event is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events.

Across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, London, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex, the roaming bands listed here play drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events. Use the area links lower down if you'd like a list narrowed to one part of the South East.

From Royal Ocean Racing Club and Flimwell Park to Merriscourt, Goodnestone Park, Hayling Island Sailing Club and Englefield House, the venues across the South East range from grand country houses to barns, hotels and city spaces. Our acts are used to adapting to all of them.

Not every roaming band does the same job. Within this category you'll find acoustic roaming duos and trios, swing and jazz groups and walkabout brass bands that move around the room playing to small groups of guests, and knowing the feel you want for your wedding or event makes the choice much easier.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched acts with clients right across the country. The roaming bands here all cover the South East and include travel in the price. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

What to know:

  • Budget £800 to £2,500 for most bookings
  • Every quote includes travel
  • Travel within the South East is never added on later
  • Many acts offer longer or extra sets if you need them
  • Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Most acts perform two or three sets, with playlist music or a break in between. Share your running order when you enquire, including any special moments, and we'll build the quote around it.

Smaller line-ups typically start from around £800, while bigger acts can reach £2,500 or more. Summer Saturdays and December are the busiest dates. The price in your quote includes travel, so it won't change once you've booked.

Each act's page carries real video, audio, a song list and reviews from previous clients. A couple of clips will tell you far more about how an act works a room than any description can.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

A roaming band plays acoustically while moving around the room or garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time rather than performing from a stage. They're ideal for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events where guests are mingling.

Usually not. Most roaming acts play fully acoustic, so they need no stage, PA or power. If they also play a static set with amplification, they'll let you know what they need.

Yes, and many bookings are outdoors. It's worth agreeing a covered spot with the venue in case of rain, and roaming acts can move inside quickly if the weather changes.

From around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two or three sets of 30 to 45 minutes, which covers a typical wedding drinks reception. Longer bookings, or a mix of roaming and static sets, can be arranged when you enquire.

Yes. Many couples book a roaming act for the drinks reception and a separate band or DJ for the evening. We can quote for both together.

“I hired The Roaming Romantics to play at my wedding last year - They were amazing and got everyone (which was a fairly international crowd) on the dancefloor in no time! We picked our songs and they came up with the rest. They were also really friendly and smiley with all of our guests - I highly recommend these guys.”

“Tommy & Sons performed at our wedding on the hottest day of the year (38 degrees!). They were professional throughout and so friendly. Due to the heat, most people were outside so were missing all the music, but the band happily set up outside instead and it turned the atmosphere into a much more relaxed, live music vibe rather than a wedding party, which was just what we were aiming for! The music was fantastic and we would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting live music at their event!”

“Everyone loved the band and the music they played. Would definitely use them again!”
