Pop & Rock Bands in the South East

Find pop and rock bands for your wedding or event in the South East

The South East covers a lot of ground, from Kensington, Guildford, Brighton, Reading, Maidstone and Oxford. Our pop and rock bands travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding or event is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for wedding receptions, corporate parties and celebrations.

This region page covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, London, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex. If you already know which area your venue is in, the links below take you to the page for that area, with venues and acts picked for it.

Popular venues across the region include The Gore Hotel, Pembroke Lodge, Hendall Manor Barns, Wasing Park, Preston Court and Old Luxters Barn. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we can usually say which acts have played there before.

Not every pop and rock band does the same job. Within this category you'll find chart pop, indie, classic rock and party-anthem bands, and knowing the feel you want for your wedding or event makes the choice much easier.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched acts with clients right across the country. The pop and rock bands here all cover the South East and include PA, lighting and travel in the price. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

At a glance:

  • Most pop and rock bands cost between £1,000 and £3,000
  • PA, lighting and travel are included in the price you're quoted
  • One page covering every area of the South East
  • Popular acts book up early for busy dates, so enquire soon
  • A 14-day change-of-mind refund comes with every booking

The South East is a large area, so it's worth mentioning your venue's exact location when you enquire. Acts based nearby often have more availability and more experience of local venues, and we'll point you towards them.

Most bookings fall between £1,000 and £3,000. The size of the line-up is the biggest factor, followed by the date and how long the act plays. PA, lighting and travel are included in the quote, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay, wherever you are in the South East.

Rather than a generic demo, every act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio and a song list. Underneath are reviews from clients, often at venues you'll recognise.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

Expect rock classics from Queen, Bon Jovi and Fleetwood Mac, nineties Britpop and indie from Oasis and Blur, noughties anthems from The Killers and Kings of Leon, and current chart pop. Each band's page lists its full repertoire, and most will learn a first-dance or special request with enough notice.

Yes — it's one of the best choices for one. Most sets move through the decades, so older guests get the rock classics and younger guests get the recent hits, and there's always a run of songs everyone knows the words to.

Many can. If your venue has a sound limiter or a smaller room, look for a band that uses electronic drums or in-ear monitoring, and tell us about the limiter when you enquire so we can recommend acts that work within it.

Yes. Bands bring their own PA, lighting and usually a playlist for between sets. They'll need floor space for the line-up and power sockets nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £1,000 for a smaller line-up to £3,000 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians and the date make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two 60-minute or three 40-minute sets during the evening, with a playlist between sets and after the band finishes. Many also offer an extra acoustic set or a later finish if you need it.

“Mixtape were the perfect act for our NYE party!
Totally professional with banger after banger.
The music really made for some happy positive vibes the best way to begin 2019.
We did however have one complaint... the dance floor was so full they couldn't get through to dance at the front! (I mean that's the sort of complaint I like #floorfillers) would 100% recommend and hope they come back soon!”

“Baby Ace were absolutely incredible. From start to finish they were professional and engaging. Every single person was up dancing. Huge range of different songs, and they really stood out. Every guest said how great they were and have asked for contact details. They went above and beyond, helping my nephew to also enjoy a guest appearance. If you are unsure, just go ahead and hire them, they absolutely made our night.”

“We weren’t sure what we wanted music-wise – we left the whole night under Natalie’s supervision – and my goodness did she deliver – all the band were great – especially playing the old 70s numbers with a modern twist – got my daughters and my mother up dancing together – a night we will never forget – they are already booked in to do our next family event!”

“The Tommy Guns played my 50th party in July 2015 and were truly excellent. Lovely guys, timely, set-up well in advance, v polite and flexible to my requests music wise and played two brilliant sets - coupled with keeping the party going full throttle with their playlist between (and post) sets. They got everyone up dancing and made the evening for all the guests. thoroughly recommended. Thanks guys! Tim. :-)”

“Marcel's surprise 50th Birthday Party on Saturday night at Frankie's Farmshop, Staplehurst, Kent was a fabulous evening! Once Park Life started playing my nephew Stefan Metselaar left where he was sitting to see what was happening as he thought there was a DJ in the building??..he had travelled from The Netherlands for this party and he could not believe his ears?.. Park Life are awesome and everyone needs to hear them play!”

“Mirror who played to over 250 guests were absolutely fantastic! I couldn't have asked for anything better and our guests thoroughly enjoyed their stints between meals and full set to finish the night properly. Many commented on how good they were and are considering booking them for their own events! They were brilliant, sound incredible and really got our event going. Thoroughly recommend and I’ll be booking them again!”
