Mumford & Sons Style Wedding Bands in Suffolk

Book a Mumford & Sons style wedding band in Suffolk

If you want your wedding to feel like the best tent at a summer festival, a Mumford & Sons style wedding band is the one to book. In Suffolk, these bands play weddings first and foremost, and their mix of folk, bluegrass and rock covers suits guests of every age.

Suffolk has a wide choice of wedding venues, from Haughley Park Barn and Butley Priory to Lanwades Hall. Our folk-rock wedding bands travel right across the area, including Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, so a festival-style wedding is never out of reach.

Not every folk-rock band does the same job. Some are best known for their acoustic sets during a drinks reception, some for a full-volume evening party, and many do both in a single booking, moving from the lawn to the dance floor.

We've been booking live bands since 1999, and every folk-rock wedding band on this page covers Suffolk. Travel is built into the quote, the band brings what it needs to be heard, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £1,000 for a smaller band to £3,000 or more for a larger line-up, depending on date and set times
  • Mumford-style folk, bluegrass, hoedown and folk-rock covers
  • Acoustic reception sets and full evening party sets
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Start with the kind of wedding day you want. For a barn or marquee wedding, a four or five-piece with banjo, fiddle and a stomp box gives the full festival feel. For a smaller party, an acoustic trio can bring the same sound at a lower volume.

Expect to pay from around £1,000 for a smaller band up to £3,000 or more for a larger line-up. Line-up size matters most, then the date and extras such as an acoustic reception set. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Each folk-rock band's page carries real video, audio, a song list and reviews from previous clients. A couple of clips will tell you far more about how a band works a room than any description can.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

It's a folk-rock band built around acoustic instruments like banjo, mandolin, fiddle and acoustic guitar, with a driving beat from a kick drum or stomp box. They play folk anthems and folk-style versions of pop and rock hits.

Most can. Many bands offer an unplugged set for the drinks reception, often moving among guests, before their full evening set. Mention it when you enquire and we'll include it in the quote.

Yes. Bands bring their own PA and lighting for the evening set, and acoustic sets need little or nothing. The full band needs floor space and power nearby, so check both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £1,000 for a smaller band to £3,000 or more for a larger line-up. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

It's one of the most popular choices. The acoustic instruments and foot-stomping energy suit barns, marquees and outdoor venues, and the sound works well in rooms where a louder band might struggle.

Yes. Most folk-rock bands play folk-style versions of pop, rock and chart hits alongside folk anthems, so there's something for every guest. Each act's song list shows exactly what they cover.

“We booked Tommy & Sons for our wedding in June. It's always quite nerve wracking hiring a band for a day that you will never forget but The Tommy guns absolutely made our wedding. “We saw Tommy & Sons at our friends wedding booked them that night. We had a wide range of ages attending our big day so we asked Tommy & Sons to cater for that. The boys were lovely gentlemen who covered so many genres and decades that everybody loved. We also had a lovely rendition of Baby, I'm Yours as our first dance that the band played as we danced. Its quite magic having a live band playing for you! we Highly recommend this band! The kids also loved the One direction songs they added in on request! :)”
