World Music Bands in Middlesbrough

Themed and world music bands for events in Middlesbrough

A world music band gives an event a theme people remember. In Middlesbrough, these acts are booked for Oktoberfest nights, Burns Night suppers, St Patrick's Day parties, summer festivals and themed corporate events — anywhere the music is part of the occasion rather than just the soundtrack to it.

Whether your event is near Redcar, Yarm and Middlesbrough or elsewhere in Middlesbrough, the acts on this page cover the whole area. Local venues include Wynyard Hall, Crathorne Hall and Acklam Hall — if you're planning a themed night, it's worth checking where a band would set up and whether roaming around the room is possible.

Within world music you'll find oompah and Oktoberfest bands, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers and pipe bands, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country and bluegrass acts. Many can also play a more general party set later in the evening, and their song lists show exactly what they cover.

We've been booking live bands since 1999, and every world music act on this page covers Middlesbrough. Travel is built into the quote, the band brings what it needs to be heard, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • Oompah, ceilidh, pipers, Latin, klezmer, country and other themed acts
  • Sets for a themed party, a full ceilidh evening or a festival slot
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Start with the theme. An Oktoberfest or beer festival suits an oompah band; a Burns Night or St Patrick's party suits a ceilidh band with a caller, or a piper to pipe in the haggis; a summer party or salsa night suits a Latin group. Many acts come in several sizes, from a small roaming line-up to a full stage band.

Expect to pay from around £600 for a smaller act up to £2,500 or more for a larger band. Line-up size matters most, then the date and extras such as a caller for a ceilidh or a longer festival set. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Each world music act's page carries real video, audio, a song list and reviews from previous clients. A couple of clips will tell you far more about how an act gets a crowd joining in than any description can.

The instant quote button gives you a price and availability for your date straight away. From there, we manage the contract and deposit and keep you updated until the event. Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and there's an emergency contact line on the day in case anything needs sorting.

FAQs

It covers themed and cultural acts rather than a standard covers band: Bavarian oompah bands for Oktoberfest, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country acts. Each act's page shows its style and repertoire.

Yes. Ceilidh bands come with a caller who explains and walks guests through each dance before the music starts, so nobody needs to know the steps in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room joining in.

Many can. Oompah bands, pipers and smaller Latin or folk line-ups often play acoustically while moving among guests, which works well for drinks receptions, fun days and festivals. Check the act's page or ask us when you enquire.

Most do. Stage and ceilidh bands bring their own PA; acoustic and roaming acts may need nothing at all. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

For Oktoberfest (September and October), Burns Night, St Patrick's Day and December, book as early as you can — these are the busiest dates for themed acts. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“The guys were very adaptable about playing outside (covered but cool courtyard despite the heaters) and kindly played on for a short time after the agreed hour to allow guests to go into dinner.
We hope they enjoyed their cigars.”

“Played at my venue a couple weeks back and absolutely rocked it! They got the crowd up and going, created an amazing atmosphere and sounded great. An added bonus that they just happen to be lovely people as well. Will definitely have them back and couldn't recommend them enough to other venues or parties!”

“From start to finish the communication from Irving (HireABand) and Max (Badass Brass) have been excellent. On the lead up to the big day Max was very helpful and patient and teh performance itself went down a storm. I would highly recommend both to anyone in the future.”

“Hired the band for our School Burns Night and was blown away by their professionalism and performance! They had all our staff on their feet to dance the night away. Lovely friendly guys, would not hesitate to book them again! Cannot recommend them highly enough!”

“The band were without doubt the highlight of our evening. The musical fusion of traditional with modern music was a fantastic take on the ceilidh and provided a great source of entertainment. The dance floor was never empty and we would thoroughly recommend the band to anyone looking for a quality, highly trained, entertaining live band to add a touch of class to any event.”

“Hi Tom,
Just to say a huge thank you for playing at The Round Chapel Hackney. You all battled on so well through the heat. Your calling was great and so many of my friends absolutely loved their first ever ceilidh.
Needless to say we've all lost a stone over the weekend!
I will definitely recommend you guys to anyone I know who is looking for a band in the future,
Thanks very much again”
