World Music Bands in Leeds & West Yorkshire

Book a world music band in Leeds & West Yorkshire

World music covers the bands that make an event feel like somewhere else. In Leeds & West Yorkshire, they're a favourite for themed parties, corporate away days, Christmas markets and family celebrations, with acts that get guests clapping, stomping and joining in from the first number.

Popular event venues in Leeds & West Yorkshire include Weetwood Hall Hotel, Oulton Hall and Mirfield Monastery, and our world music acts play events across Bradford, Harrogate and Wakefield. Tell us your venue and the theme when you enquire and we'll suggest acts that suit both.

World music is a broad category. Some acts are Bavarian oompah bands in lederhosen, others are ceilidh bands with a caller who teaches every dance or pipers who lead a grand entrance, and others play Latin, klezmer or country. Watching a couple of videos is the quickest way to find the one that fits your theme.

We've been booking live bands since 1999, and every world music act on this page covers Leeds & West Yorkshire. Travel is built into the quote, the band brings what it needs to be heard, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • Oompah, ceilidh, pipers, Latin, klezmer, country and other themed acts
  • Sets for a themed party, a full ceilidh evening or a festival slot
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Check the room and any sound limiter before you choose. Acoustic and roaming acts work almost anywhere, while amplified ceilidh and party bands need power and floor space. For outdoor events, ask about cover and power for the band.

A trio or four-piece typically starts from around £600, while a larger oompah or ceilidh band for a full evening can reach £2,500 or more. The date and your set times make a difference too. The price in your quote includes travel, so it won't change once you've booked.

Each world music act's page carries real video, audio, a song list and reviews from previous clients. A couple of clips will tell you far more about how an act gets a crowd joining in than any description can.

The instant quote button gives you a price and availability for your date straight away. From there, we manage the contract and deposit and keep you updated until the event. Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and there's an emergency contact line on the day in case anything needs sorting.

FAQs

It covers themed and cultural acts rather than a standard covers band: Bavarian oompah bands for Oktoberfest, ceilidh and folk bands, pipers, Latin and salsa groups, klezmer and Jewish celebration bands, and country acts. Each act's page shows its style and repertoire.

Yes. Ceilidh bands come with a caller who explains and walks guests through each dance before the music starts, so nobody needs to know the steps in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room joining in.

Many can. Oompah bands, pipers and smaller Latin or folk line-ups often play acoustically while moving among guests, which works well for drinks receptions, fun days and festivals. Check the act's page or ask us when you enquire.

Most do. Stage and ceilidh bands bring their own PA; acoustic and roaming acts may need nothing at all. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

For Oktoberfest (September and October), Burns Night, St Patrick's Day and December, book as early as you can — these are the busiest dates for themed acts. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“Thank you so much for your support and the really amazing show you put on. I don't have to tell you that your band really energised the crowd and were absolutely perfect for the event. Because of the ferries, the fireworks have to be programmed to the second and it was pleasing to see them fitting in so well with your performance. I understand that like last year, we had near record numbers on the gate.

Thank you again, you were terrific.”

“Hickory Smoke were available to stand in at very last minute when our original band dropped out, and we've had nothing but good feedback about the music and have booked them again for our Summer Fete!”

“We had so much fun and a lot of that was down to you guys! The violin during the ceremony was perfect and thank you for playing during the canapes, even though we weren't there for this we received many comments that you were both great.
The ceilidh was amazing! Sorry we were difficult to teach, I think for many of our guests this was their first experience of one! But most importantly everyone loved it and had an awesome time.
We would recommend you without hesitation!”

“Hi Tom,
Many thanks to you, the superb band and all the staff at the metalworks for giving us such a great evening on Saturday.
We liked the calling, Tom - just enough info then let them get on with it!
We will certainly be running another such event in the future as our guests loved it.
Thanks again and very best wishes, Ann”

“What can I say about the Insane Pipes? Quite simply they brought a huge smile to everyone's face with their performance on the Main Stage at this years Wessex Folk Festival was one of the highlights of the festival. Of course you can hear them from a long distance away, but that would not do justice to what are a great band of musicians. Their performance was one of the highlights of the festival and they had the crowd on their feet wanting more from their very first number to the last. This was a real treat by a tight unit who know how to play their instruments and work an audience. If you get the chance go see the band as it is well worth it ‬”
