Wedding Entertainment in Cumbria

Find your wedding entertainment in Cumbria

Most couples haven't settled on a format when they start looking. You might be torn between a band and a DJ, or wondering whether a ceremony singer is worth it on top of the evening act. Across Cumbria, couples browse here first, see which acts they keep coming back to and let the rest take shape around them.

Across Cumbria, our wedding acts play country houses, barns, hotels and marquees in and around Windermere, Carlisle and Penrith. Venues in the area include Broadoaks Country House, Hidden River Barn and Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa, each with its own space and finish time, which we'll check with the act for you.

Not every act does the same job. Some are best for a quiet, elegant ceremony, others for a lively reception or a packed dance floor. Knowing which parts of the day you want to cover makes the choice much easier.

Hireaband has been booking live wedding entertainment since 1999. Every act listed here travels to Cumbria as standard, and PA, lighting (where relevant) and travel costs are always included in the quote you receive.

At a glance:

  • Solo acts start from around £300; live bands range from £1,200 to £4,000 and over
  • PA, lighting where relevant and travel are included in the price you're quoted
  • Mix formats across the day, from ceremony music to an evening band
  • Summer Saturdays book up 12 to 18 months ahead
  • A 14-day change-of-mind refund comes with every booking

A live band gives you a show and an atmosphere a playlist can't match, while a DJ can play any song you like and takes up less space. Many couples book a band for two sets and have the DJ or the band's playlist carry the rest of the night.

Solo acts and duos usually start from around £300, DJs and smaller bands sit in the middle, and a full live band ranges from £1,200 to £4,000 and over. Summer Saturdays are the busiest dates. The price in your quote includes travel, so it won't change once you've booked.

Every act's page has video and audio of the performers who would actually play at your wedding, a full song list and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to judge the style and the atmosphere before you commit.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

Wedding Entertainment is the full range — live bands, solo singers, duos, acoustic musicians and more — so you can compare every option in one place rather than committing to one format first.

It varies a lot by format — a solo singer or acoustic duo typically starts from around £300, whereas a live band can be anything from £1,200 all the way to £4,000 and over, depending on line-up size. Travel is always included in every quote.

Yes — solo acts and duos are one of the most popular choices for smaller weddings, ceremonies or where budget or space is limited, and they're booked through the same instant-quote process.

Yes, every act listed here travels to Cumbria as standard, with travel costs already included in the quote you receive.

Many acoustic acts and duos can cover ceremony music as well as an evening set — check each act's own page for what's included, or ask us directly when you enquire.

Most couples book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday — earlier is generally safer the bigger the act, since full bands get booked up first.

“Thank you SO much for an absolutely outstanding performance at our wedding on Saturday night! You guys were incredible, from first dance to last it was just spectacular!! The musicality and professionalism of the entire band was second to none throughout the entire evening. We can’t thank you enough for making our wedding night so special. Our guests couldn’t praise you enough! Thanks again, we’ll be sure to recommend you guys to anyone looking for a top quality function band!”

“My husband talked me into getting a band for our wedding rather than a DJ and I am so glad he did, these guys were amazing! He was never off the dancefloor (and he never dances!) They have songs to suit any type of guest and they really get the crowd involved. My husband has been in several bands himself in the past, so he loved having the opportunity to play drums along with the band for a song, it made the night that little more special, so thank you guys!”

“We hired Simply Groove for our xmas party and they went down a storm. Really lovely bunch of lads, good communication prior to the gig and also on the day. Staff had an amazing evening - thank you for making our night!!!”

(5)

“Sunny Side Up played a fantastic selection of songs - merging old with new and even putting an unexpected but well received rap! They played our first dance song as a special request and really helped make a great evening atmosphere. 100% would recommend!”

“Mirror were fantastic!!! They literally made the night and got everyone on the dance floor all evening. They are all so talented and we were so impressed!! Would 100% recommend!”

“Thank you for being brilliant and getting everybody on the dancefloor all evening! Your mixture of genres to suit our families and friends tastes were spot on and we couldn’t recommend you enough to everyone! You are fantastic and worth every penny (and more)! Thank you for your part in making our evening a great success and a really good party.. which is what we wanted for our wedding reception! We have had lots of compliments from our guests on you sets and really appreciate your hard work.”
