Roaming Bands in Worcestershire

Hire a roaming band for your wedding or event in Worcestershire

Roaming bands are one of the easiest ways to lift a wedding reception. Acts across Worcestershire need no stage and usually no power, so they can start as soon as guests arrive, follow them from the ceremony to the drinks and move around the room playing to small groups while everyone mingles.

Worcestershire has a wide choice of wedding and event venues, from Old Rectory House and Redhouse Barn to The Wood Norton. Our roaming acts travel right across the area, including Malvern, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove, and can move between spaces as your guests do.

Not every roaming act does the same job. A duo can move quietly between tables and small groups, a trio or four-piece fills a large lawn, and a brass band makes a real entrance. Knowing where your guests will be makes the choice much easier.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched live bands with events of every size. The roaming acts listed here all travel to Worcestershire, include travel in the price, and arrive with their own sound set-up where it's needed. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • The band moves around the room, playing to small groups of guests at a time
  • No stage and usually no power needed
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Start with the space and the guest numbers. A duo suits a drinks reception of up to about 80 guests, a trio or four-piece suits a larger lawn or several rooms, and a brass band suits a big outdoor event or a grand entrance.

A duo or trio typically starts from around £800, while a four-piece or brass band for a longer reception can reach £2,500 or more. The date and your set times make a difference too. The price in your quote includes travel, so it won't change once you've booked.

Rather than a generic demo, each act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio, a song list and client reviews. Between them you'll get a clear sense of the sound and the show well before the day.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

A roaming band plays acoustically while moving around the room or garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time rather than performing from a stage. They're ideal for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events where guests are mingling.

Usually not. Most roaming acts play fully acoustic, so they need no stage, PA or power. If they also play a static set with amplification, they'll let you know what they need.

Yes, and many bookings are outdoors. It's worth agreeing a covered spot with the venue in case of rain, and roaming acts can move inside quickly if the weather changes.

From around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two or three sets of 30 to 45 minutes, which covers a typical wedding drinks reception. Longer bookings, or a mix of roaming and static sets, can be arranged when you enquire.

Yes. Many couples book a roaming act for the drinks reception and a separate band or DJ for the evening. We can quote for both together.

“Thanks so much, we and everyone there had a great night! Carrie and myself thought the band was perfect, and everyone else there also thought you guys were fantastic- there was a lot of compliments from the guests. Thanks again for a great, and entertaining set!”

“Tommy & Sons we’re absolutely phenomenal - and every one of our guests would agree! (So much so, we have friends desperate to try and hire them for their weddings abroad!) They went above and beyond to learn not just one, but numerous songs, take requests, change their schedule to our order of the day and perform a great DJ set to suit the vibe of the evening. Their outstanding vocals, upbeat nature and friendly personalities were just the cherry on top of the cake! We can’t recommend this band enough for other couples wanting to dance the night away and impress their guests with incredible live music! You won’t be disappointed!”

“Thank you so much for coming and doing such an amazing job for us! So sorry we didn’t get to say bye and thank you as you left, but we really appreciated the amazing job you did. All our guests commented on how fab you were. I hope you weren’t too boiling in that room like the rest of us were!!”

“We got married at The Ned in July and booked The Roaming Romantics to kick off our Champagne reception, we couldn't have asked for a better way to start the celebrations- all the guest were up dancing and singing immediately, just having the BEST time! They are all fantastic musicians and such good fun. Prior to the wedding communication was fantastic, very professional... simply great guys to work with. Don't think about it... Book them! Thank you so much Roaming Romantics for making our day truly memorable.”

“Tommy & Sons were absolutely fabulous. We loved their sets, and so did all our guests. They were genuinely lovely people, and some of our guests were able to get up and sing with them. This was brilliant! Couldn't be happier with our choice to hire Tommy & Sons; comms between hireaband, and the band were excellent and we hope to use them again in the future. Thank you!”

“This band sound amazing! Beautiful acoustic vocals, the balance of a male and female voice worked so well. They sent us their song list before the wedding and we liked it all. They do a great mix of classic and modern songs through the eras to suit everyone. We also asked them to learn some specific songs for us to make an entrance to which they did with no questions and they did them perfectly. We also asked them to move to a different location for the last set which they did so smoothly and we didn’t even notice them moving and re-setting up. They were the perfect addition to our wedding, all our guests loved the music and many guests complimented them! 5/5”
