Roaming Bands in the West Midlands

Find roaming bands for your wedding or event in the West Midlands

The West Midlands covers a lot of ground, from Hereford, Leamington Spa, Edgbaston, Lichfield, Warwick and Shrewsbury. Our roaming bands travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding or event is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events.

This region page covers Birmingham, Coventry, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. If you already know which area your venue is in, the links below take you to the page for that area, with venues and acts picked for it.

Popular venues across the region include Lyde Arundel, Alderson House, Aston Hall, Foxtail Barns Wedding Venue, Blackwell Grange and Rowton Castle. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we can usually say which acts have played there before.

Not every roaming band does the same job. Within this category you'll find acoustic roaming duos and trios, swing and jazz groups and walkabout brass bands that move around the room playing to small groups of guests, and knowing the feel you want for your wedding or event makes the choice much easier.

Hireaband has been booking live entertainment since 1999. Every band listed here covers the West Midlands, and travel is included in the quote you receive. Use the instant quote button on this page to check prices and availability for your date.

What to know:

  • Budget £800 to £2,500 for most bookings
  • Every quote includes travel
  • Travel within the West Midlands is never added on later
  • Many acts offer longer or extra sets if you need them
  • Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund

The West Midlands is a large area, so it's worth mentioning your venue's exact location when you enquire. Acts based nearby often have more availability and more experience of local venues, and we'll point you towards them.

Most bookings fall between £800 and £2,500. The size of the line-up is the biggest factor, followed by the date and how long the act plays. Travel is included in the quote, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay, wherever you are in the West Midlands.

Every act's page has video and audio of the performers who would actually play at your wedding or event, a full song list and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to judge the style before you commit.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

A roaming band plays acoustically while moving around the room or garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time rather than performing from a stage. They're ideal for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events where guests are mingling.

Usually not. Most roaming acts play fully acoustic, so they need no stage, PA or power. If they also play a static set with amplification, they'll let you know what they need.

Yes, and many bookings are outdoors. It's worth agreeing a covered spot with the venue in case of rain, and roaming acts can move inside quickly if the weather changes.

From around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two or three sets of 30 to 45 minutes, which covers a typical wedding drinks reception. Longer bookings, or a mix of roaming and static sets, can be arranged when you enquire.

Yes. Many couples book a roaming act for the drinks reception and a separate band or DJ for the evening. We can quote for both together.

“From start to finish communication with Ian and the band members was great. They were very attentive and paid close attention to our wishes prior to the event. On the night itself this paid off as they catered to every detail and request we made. Their performance on the night was fantastic! All night myself and our guests were on our feet and I received countless compliments on the band. They're very talented at what they do and sounded great. They completely made our wedding reception! Thank you x”

“We couldn't be happier with our choice to book the Central Park band for our wedding day. From a logistics standpoint, they were highly professional, organized, and easy to communicate with. As for the performance, they were phenomenal. The unique roaming sets during the drinks reception were a massive hit and set us up perfectly for the rest of the our day. If you are looking for an exceptional entertainment for your wedding day, book Central Park. They are worth every penny!”
