Check the room size and any sound limiter before you choose. Rock sets can be loud, so a band used to playing at a controlled volume — or one with electronic drums — is worth considering for smaller rooms or venues with strict limits.
Most pop and rock bookings fall between about £1,000 and £3,000. The number of musicians is the biggest factor, followed by the date — Saturdays in summer and December are the busiest. Travel is included in the quote, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay.
