Irish Bands in the West Midlands

Find Irish bands for your wedding or event in the West Midlands

Finding the right Irish band is easier when you can see every option in one place. This page covers all of the West Midlands, from Lichfield, Telford, Ross-on-Wye, Leamington Spa, Sutton Coldfield and Worcester, and every act listed travels to venues across the region for weddings, St Patrick's Day parties and family celebrations.

Across Birmingham, Coventry, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, the Irish bands listed here play weddings, St Patrick's Day parties and family celebrations. Use the area links lower down if you'd like a list narrowed to one part of the West Midlands.

From The Mill at Stone and Wistanstow Village Hall to Eastnor Castle, Wootton Park, The Bond and Birtsmorton Court, the venues across the West Midlands range from grand country houses to barns, hotels and city spaces. Our acts are used to adapting to all of them.

Not every Irish band does the same job. Within this category you'll find traditional trad and céilí bands, Irish party bands and Irish singers, and knowing the feel you want for your wedding or event makes the choice much easier.

Hireaband has been booking live entertainment since 1999. Every band listed here covers the West Midlands, and PA, lighting and travel are included in the quote you receive. Use the instant quote button on this page to check prices and availability for your date.

What to know:

  • Budget £600 to £2,500 for most bookings
  • Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel
  • Travel within the West Midlands is never added on later
  • Many acts offer longer or extra sets if you need them
  • Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund

The West Midlands is a large area, so it's worth mentioning your venue's exact location when you enquire. Acts based nearby often have more availability and more experience of local venues, and we'll point you towards them.

Smaller line-ups typically start from around £600, while bigger acts can reach £2,500 or more. Summer Saturdays and December are the busiest dates. The price in your quote includes PA, lighting and travel, so it won't change once you've booked.

Rather than a generic demo, every act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio and a song list. Underneath are reviews from clients, often at venues you'll recognise.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

The category covers traditional trad groups, céilí bands with a caller, Irish folk and ballad singers, and Celtic rock and Irish party bands that also play modern covers. Each act's page shows its style, line-up and song list.

Yes. Céilí bands come with a caller who explains each dance and walks guests through the steps, so nobody needs to know them in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room dancing together.

Most do. Full bands bring their own PA and lighting; acoustic duos and trios need very little. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a solo singer or duo to £2,500 or more for a full band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most acts are happy to learn a special request with enough notice, whether that's a traditional air for the ceremony, a ballad for the first dance or a family favourite. Mention it when you enquire.

As early as you can. St Patrick's weekend is the busiest time of year for Irish acts, and the best bands are often booked months ahead. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“Karl and the band were excellent. I was apprehensive about having a Céilidh for the wedding as a number of our guests had never done one before but Karl was really good at explaining the moves and the guests absolutely loved it. It was a real feature of our wedding that everyone will remember for years to come. Thank you Hickory Smoke, I would recommend you to anyone.”

“I just wanted to follow up. The music for Laura and Ray’s wedding and the night before were just amazing! Thanks for all that you did to make the wedding a complete success! This was my first wedding in England but for sure will be calling you for anything else we may have across the pond. Please use me as a reference if you need to or let me know if I can post a great review anywhere. Thank you again! Just perfection!”

“We booked Lanigans Shindig to play at our daughters 21st Birthday party recently and they were a tremendous success. Everybody really loved their music, they were a lot of fun and really got the party going. The band were charming and highly professional. They arrived on time to set up and entertained the guests both as they arrived and throughout the evening. Everyone at the party both young people and older guests really loved their playing and the range of tunes was fantastic. I would highly recommend this band. They brought warmth and character to the evening. This was definitely money well spent!”

“The process to book our wedding band through Hireaband was so efficient, and everyone was so nice to deal with. The Natural Born Sinners were amazing, all of our guests have commented on how good they were. They just played banger after banger, and were very versatile. They played some amazing country hits that we love, but also took requests and played other pop and rock classics. I cant thank Ben and the rest the band enough, they were awesome and got the party going across their full set”

“Declan was amazing! Reached out before the wedding and discussed the songs and everything was perfect during the ceremony and danced at the drinks reception. Can’t thank him enough for making our day go so effortlessly well!”

“The Scene just blew us away. I was a sweaty mess at the end of the night and it was all their fault. What a party atmosphere these lads created. Can't think of any other wedding where I've seen such a happy crowd. I'd highly recommend them.”
