Irish Bands in Staffordshire

Irish music for weddings and parties in Staffordshire

Irish music works for almost any crowd. In Staffordshire, Irish bands are booked to celebrate family roots at weddings, to lead a céilí at a party, to fill a marquee on St Patrick's weekend or simply to give a birthday the feel of a great night in a Dublin bar.

Popular event venues in Staffordshire include The Mill at Stone, Middleton Hall and Sandon Hall, and our Irish bands play events across Stoke-on-Trent, Tamworth and Burton upon Trent. Tell us your venue and the kind of night you have in mind when you enquire and we'll suggest acts that suit both.

Within this category you'll find traditional Irish groups, céilí and folk bands, Irish singers and duos, and Celtic rock bands. Many can play a gentle set early on and a full party set later, and their song lists show exactly what they cover.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched live bands with events of every size. The Irish acts listed here all travel to Staffordshire, include travel in the price, and arrive with their own sound set-up where it's needed. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £600 for a solo singer or duo to £2,500 or more for a full band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • Traditional trad, céilí, Irish folk, ballads and Celtic rock
  • Sets for a drinks reception, a céilí evening or a full party night
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Start with the kind of night you want. A drinks reception or dinner suits an acoustic trad trio or duo; a wedding evening or big birthday suits an Irish party band; and if you want everyone up dancing together, a céilí band with a caller is the one to book.

Expect to pay from around £600 for a solo singer or duo up to £2,500 or more for a full band. Line-up size matters most, then the date and extras such as a céilí caller or a longer set. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Every act's page has video and audio of the musicians who would actually play, their repertoire and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to check the style and the atmosphere before you commit.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

The category covers traditional trad groups, céilí bands with a caller, Irish folk and ballad singers, and Celtic rock and Irish party bands that also play modern covers. Each act's page shows its style, line-up and song list.

Yes. Céilí bands come with a caller who explains each dance and walks guests through the steps, so nobody needs to know them in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room dancing together.

Most do. Full bands bring their own PA and lighting; acoustic duos and trios need very little. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a solo singer or duo to £2,500 or more for a full band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most acts are happy to learn a special request with enough notice, whether that's a traditional air for the ceremony, a ballad for the first dance or a family favourite. Mention it when you enquire.

As early as you can. St Patrick's weekend is the busiest time of year for Irish acts, and the best bands are often booked months ahead. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“The band were amazing, really talented and great at getting people up to dance and keeping them going throughout the night. They were able to accommodate our request for a Hora, learned our first dance song and were just the best!”

“Excellent communication from Del and the team. Declan was brilliant. Very professional musician with a lovely voice. Played a great variation of songs to suit all age groups of the party. Excellent value for money. Stairway to Heaven was incredible! Will book again in the future and highly recommend Declan and the company to everyone.”

“The Scene did an amazing job. We go to see a lot of live music, but The Scene really stood out for us, they were the perfect choice for our wedding.”

“We just wanted to say thank you SO much for playing at our wedding on Saturday. You guys were awesome and everybody has been commenting on how great you were! Thank you so much for answering all of our questions in the lead up, particularly in relation to first dance/last dance stuff! And thank you for being so flexible when our speech/end of dinner timings went awry! You were so great eith the first dance and the archway at the end too so thank you! We had so much fun and you guys kept the dancefloor full throughout! Many thanks again for making the evening so much fun!”

“We would like to thank Karl and the team for a fantastic evening, they were professional, entertaining, fun and easy to follow the dance moves. The communication was also great from the band, always taking our comments into consideration. It was a fabulous evening reception and we would strongly recommend to our friends and wider family! Thank you!”

“I was dubious booking before I had heard them properly but was THRILLED with their performance. They made the evening, they were friendly, lively, play every type of music and a proper treat. I would highly recommend them and now have to find an excuse for another party to get them back a second time! Thank you Flying Finns!”
