Wedding Daytime Entertainment in Nottinghamshire

Wedding daytime entertainment in Nottinghamshire

The hours between the ceremony and the evening band are where a wedding day either flows or drags. In Nottinghamshire, daytime entertainment covers the ceremony itself, the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast, with music or entertainment that keeps guests happy while the photos are taken and the room is turned around.

Whether your wedding is near Nottingham, Mansfield and Newark or further afield, the daytime acts here cover the whole of Nottinghamshire. Local venues include Hodsock Priory, Hazel Gap Barn and Village Hotel, and it's worth checking with your venue where the music or entertainment will be set up. Colwick Hall, Holme Pierrepont Hall and Inkersall Grange Farm are among the other Nottinghamshire venues listed further down, each with its own page.

The acts that work best in the daytime are the ones that can adapt to the room. Ceremony musicians play acoustically in a church or registry room, drinks reception acts keep the volume at a level where guests can talk, and some acts cover the whole day with a single set-up.

We've been booking wedding entertainment since 1999, and every daytime act on this page covers Nottinghamshire. You can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Budget from around £300 to £1,500, depending on the act and the date
  • Book for the ceremony only, or for the ceremony, drinks and wedding breakfast
  • Popular dates go months in advance
  • Everything included is listed in your quote
  • Change your mind within 14 days and get a full refund

Start with the running order. Most couples want music for the walk down the aisle and the signing of the register, then something relaxed for the drinks reception and the meal. One act booked across all three is usually better value than separate bookings, and it means one set-up and one point of contact on the day.

Expect to pay from around £300 up to £1,500. A solo musician for the ceremony alone sits at the lower end, while a quartet or an act covering the ceremony, drinks and wedding breakfast sits towards the upper end. Busy Saturdays in summer and December sit at the top of the range, and your quote shows exactly what's included.

Each act's page carries real video and audio, a repertoire list and reviews from previous clients. Watching a couple of clips tells you far more than any description can, so it's worth listening before you choose.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

Anything that happens before the evening band: ceremony music, drinks reception music and entertainment during the wedding breakfast. That includes solo singers, harpists, pianists, guitarists, string quartets, acoustic duos, roaming musicians and close-up magicians.

Yes, and it's a common way to book. Many soloists, duos and quartets offer packages covering all three, which is usually better value than booking separate acts.

Harpists, pianists, guitarists and string quartets usually play acoustically in a ceremony room or church. Singers and duos bring a small PA for larger rooms or outdoor spaces, so tell us the venue in Nottinghamshire when you enquire.

Many can, as long as there's cover nearby and power where it's needed. Acoustic instruments such as harps and strings need shelter from sun and rain, so check your venue's wet-weather plan.

Typically £300 to £1,500, depending on the act, how long they perform and the date. Your quote shows exactly what's included.

Many can, given enough notice. Mention it when you enquire and the act will confirm whether they can add it for your day.

“We did something a little bit different and organised for the piper to play on the Sunday morning after our wedding to welcome our guests for breakfast. Our piper was brilliant. He was punctual and professional. He had good communication throughout. Our guests, especially our English relatives couldn’t stop raving about him and he was kind enough to have photos taken also. Would highly recommend. Colin was friendly and approachable and a great musician.”

“Dan and his team were a wonderful addition to our special day. Everything ran wonderfully well and our guests were thrilled with the selection of music chosen for the day. Anatole Quartet were extremely professional and leading up to the day, happily communicated with the Choir and Church, leaving my husband and I to focus on other things. Absolutely five star and highly recommended. Thanks again.”

“For my 40th birthday last November, I wanted to re-create some swing style magic for myself and my friends. And with Gentlemen of the Road that's exactly what I got. The set list was awesome, and you can tell the band love what they do as the sound they produced was wonderful. I can't recommend them highly enough. Two long sets just wasn't enough! Thanks guys, we had an incredible evening.”

“Absolutely fantastic performances and sets, everyone totally loved the vibe and the amazing performers- everyone was asking who they were and how I found them. When it rained they came off the stage and performed inside the marquee creating a really intimate magical moment, and graciously did a couple of requests for us all to join in on - couldn't have asked for more or better, simply brilliant! 11/10 thanks so much”

“I really enjoyed working with Livi ITM. Despite their youth, the band were thoroughly professional and dedicated musicians who brought a fresh dynamic to our music festival. The trio complement each other very well, bringing a warmth to the stage that the audience to engage with. Livi, front and centre, delivered controlled vocals of a seasoned pro, years ahead of her time. I look forward to working with them again.”

“I’d recommend Ian without hesitation. Not only is he a huge talent with a fine repertoire, he is a genuinely good guy who was friendly and communicative during the build-up to my wedding. On the day itself he went above and beyond what I’d expect from a performer by allowing my son (a beginner on guitar) to play along to one of his songs. Ian is a top talent and a top man.”
