Manor Mews is a whole small hamlet of a wedding venue: a courtyard of 19th-century brick barns, cottages and a Manor House at Tattersett in west Norfolk, restored to reflect the buildings’ early 1800s origins and set among farmland with the coast a short drive north. The appeal is immediate and practical — everything you need is inside one courtyard, so the day never involves putting guests in cars.
The Great Barn is the centrepiece, a hall-like room with exposed brick walls and high ceilings carried on grand beams, an oak bar along one side and a wooden dancefloor. It is licensed for civil ceremonies and holds up to 120 for the vows and around 180 for the wedding breakfast, with more joining for the evening; All Saints’ church is a short walk away if you would rather marry there. The music generally runs to around midnight, which lets a band play two full sets after the meal and still finish to a busy room rather than a thinning one, and the party tends to carry on quietly in the cottages afterwards.
