Roaming Bands in Wales

Find roaming bands for your wedding or event in Wales

From Mumbles, Penarth and Wrexham, Wales has a huge choice of venues and a busy calendar of drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events. The roaming bands on this page cover the whole region, and many play several dates a month within it.

Across Cardiff, North Wales and Swansea, the roaming bands listed here play drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events. Use the area links lower down if you'd like a list narrowed to one part of Wales.

Venues across Wales that our acts know well include Oldwalls Gower and Hensol Castle, Soughton Hall and Fairyhill, and Miskin Manor and Ruthin Castle. Every venue has its own space, power supply and finish time, and we'll check those with the act for you.

The category covers acoustic roaming duos and trios, swing and jazz groups and walkabout brass bands that move around the room playing to small groups of guests. Their pages show exactly what each one plays, so you can match the act to your guests and your venue.

Hireaband has been booking live entertainment since 1999. Every band listed here covers Wales, and travel is included in the quote you receive. Use the instant quote button on this page to check prices and availability for your date.

At a glance:

  • Most roaming bands cost between £800 and £2,500
  • Travel is included in the price you're quoted
  • One page covering every area of Wales
  • Popular acts book up early for busy dates, so enquire soon
  • A 14-day change-of-mind refund comes with every booking

Start with the space and the guest numbers. A smaller line-up suits an intimate room or a venue with a sound limiter, while a larger act fills a ballroom or marquee. Tell us the venue and numbers and we'll suggest what tends to work.

Expect to pay from around £800 up to £2,500 or more for a larger line-up. The act, the date and your set times make the biggest difference. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Rather than a generic demo, every act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio and a song list. Underneath are reviews from clients, often at venues you'll recognise.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

A roaming band plays acoustically while moving around the room or garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time rather than performing from a stage. They're ideal for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events where guests are mingling.

Usually not. Most roaming acts play fully acoustic, so they need no stage, PA or power. If they also play a static set with amplification, they'll let you know what they need.

Yes, and many bookings are outdoors. It's worth agreeing a covered spot with the venue in case of rain, and roaming acts can move inside quickly if the weather changes.

From around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two or three sets of 30 to 45 minutes, which covers a typical wedding drinks reception. Longer bookings, or a mix of roaming and static sets, can be arranged when you enquire.

Yes. Many couples book a roaming act for the drinks reception and a separate band or DJ for the evening. We can quote for both together.

“THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You lot absolutely 100% nailed it! We are both so so happy with the glorious soundtrack you provided for our party. The music was amazing, and the energy you all brought was incredible. We knew it was going to be good, but had no idea it would be that good! You got the party started in ways we could never have imagined! Everyone had the best time dancing to your sound, we could not have wished for more. There aren’t words for how grateful we are, just thank you thank you thank you!!!”

“Andy and I would like to say a massive thank you to both of you. You were exactly what we wanted and everyone has been saying how fab you were! The manager at Drapers Hall has even said he’d like you back there - not sure how you’d feel about the journey! You really made the evening, so once again, many thanks!”

“I just wanted to say a big thank you to the band for last weekend. We are so happy that we chose you for our special day and absolutely thrilled with both performances. We really appreciated the extra effort to rehearse with our friend Rosie which just made the day for us. She was the first first to introduce Jack and I so it felt incredible to have her singing with the band for the first dance at the wedding. Please pass on our thanks to the rest of the band, they absolutely made the night and we had a great time at the wedding”

“We both felt your band was a great addition to our party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the music you chose and we would recommend you anytime! Best regards to you and your band mates and hope to see you another time”
