Roaming Bands in the North East

Book roaming bands anywhere in the North East

The North East covers a lot of ground, from Jesmond, Hexham, Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees. Our roaming bands travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding or event is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events.

Across Durham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumberland, the roaming bands listed here play drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events. Use the area links lower down if you'd like a list narrowed to one part of the North East.

Venues across the North East that our acts know well include The Vermont Hotel and Hallington Mill, Bradbury Glade and Judges Country House Hotel, and Newcastle Civic Centre and Langley Castle. Every venue has its own space, power supply and finish time, and we'll check those with the act for you.

The category covers acoustic roaming duos and trios, swing and jazz groups and walkabout brass bands that move around the room playing to small groups of guests. Their pages show exactly what each one plays, so you can match the act to your guests and your venue.

Since 1999, Hireaband has matched acts with clients right across the country. The roaming bands here all cover the North East and include travel in the price. The instant quote button shows pricing and availability for your date in seconds.

What to know:

  • Budget £800 to £2,500 for most bookings
  • Every quote includes travel
  • Travel within the North East is never added on later
  • Many acts offer longer or extra sets if you need them
  • Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund

The North East is a large area, so it's worth mentioning your venue's exact location when you enquire. Acts based nearby often have more availability and more experience of local venues, and we'll point you towards them.

Expect to pay from around £800 up to £2,500 or more for a larger line-up. The act, the date and your set times make the biggest difference. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Rather than a generic demo, every act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio and a song list. Underneath are reviews from clients, often at venues you'll recognise.

The instant quote button gives you a price and availability for your date straight away. From there, we manage the contract and deposit and keep you updated until the event. Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and there's an emergency contact line on the day in case anything needs sorting.

FAQs

A roaming band plays acoustically while moving around the room or garden, stopping to play to small groups of guests at a time rather than performing from a stage. They're ideal for wedding drinks receptions, garden parties and corporate events where guests are mingling.

Usually not. Most roaming acts play fully acoustic, so they need no stage, PA or power. If they also play a static set with amplification, they'll let you know what they need.

Yes, and many bookings are outdoors. It's worth agreeing a covered spot with the venue in case of rain, and roaming acts can move inside quickly if the weather changes.

From around £800 for a smaller act to £2,500 or more for a larger band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most play two or three sets of 30 to 45 minutes, which covers a typical wedding drinks reception. Longer bookings, or a mix of roaming and static sets, can be arranged when you enquire.

Yes. Many couples book a roaming act for the drinks reception and a separate band or DJ for the evening. We can quote for both together.

“Just wanted to drop a quick email to say a MASSIVE thank you for your performance at our wedding on Monday. You were absolutely incredible. We had so many compliments for you from our guests. You truly made our night complete. Thank you so much!”

“THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You lot absolutely 100% nailed it! We are both so so happy with the glorious soundtrack you provided for our party. The music was amazing, and the energy you all brought was incredible. We knew it was going to be good, but had no idea it would be that good! You got the party started in ways we could never have imagined! Everyone had the best time dancing to your sound, we could not have wished for more. There aren’t words for how grateful we are, just thank you thank you thank you!!!”

“Andy and I would like to say a massive thank you to both of you. You were exactly what we wanted and everyone has been saying how fab you were! The manager at Drapers Hall has even said he’d like you back there - not sure how you’d feel about the journey! You really made the evening, so once again, many thanks!”

“I just wanted to say a big thank you to the band for last weekend. We are so happy that we chose you for our special day and absolutely thrilled with both performances. We really appreciated the extra effort to rehearse with our friend Rosie which just made the day for us. She was the first first to introduce Jack and I so it felt incredible to have her singing with the band for the first dance at the wedding. Please pass on our thanks to the rest of the band, they absolutely made the night and we had a great time at the wedding”

“We both felt your band was a great addition to our party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the music you chose and we would recommend you anytime! Best regards to you and your band mates and hope to see you another time”
