Guest numbers and room size decide most of it. For up to around 150 guests a four-piece is usually plenty; for a large ballroom or a crowd of 200 or more, a five or six-piece fills the space properly. Many bands also offer an acoustic set for a drinks reception before the main evening sets.

A three or four-piece typically starts from around £1,000, while a six-piece with extra vocals or keys can reach £3,000 or more. The date and your set times make a difference too. The price in your quote includes travel, PA and lighting, so it won't change once you've booked.
