Irish Bands on the Isle of Wight

Book an Irish band on the Isle of Wight

Few acts get a room joining in like an Irish band. Across the Isle of Wight, these bands play traditional jigs and reels, Irish ballads, céilí dances and rousing folk-rock covers, and they're a favourite for weddings, family parties and St Patrick's celebrations.

Whether your event is near Ryde, Freshwater and Cowes or elsewhere on the Isle of Wight, the acts on this page cover the whole area. Local venues include Cowes Yacht Haven, Albert Cottage Hotel and Appuldurcombe House. If you're planning a céilí, it's worth checking the size of the dance floor with the venue early on.

Within this category you'll find traditional Irish groups, céilí and folk bands, Irish singers and duos, and Celtic rock bands. Many can play a gentle set early on and a full party set later, and their song lists show exactly what they cover.

Hireaband has been booking live music since 1999. Every Irish act here travels to the Isle of Wight as standard, brings the equipment it needs, and the quote you receive includes travel. Use the instant quote button on this page to check prices and availability for your date.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: from around £600 for a solo singer or duo to £2,500 or more for a full band, depending on line-up, date and set times
  • Traditional trad, céilí, Irish folk, ballads and Celtic rock
  • Sets for a drinks reception, a céilí evening or a full party night
  • Travel is included in every quote
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Check the room and any sound limiter before you choose. Acoustic trad acts work almost anywhere, while amplified Irish party and Celtic rock bands need power and floor space. For a céilí, the size of the dance floor matters most.

Expect to pay from around £600 for a solo singer or duo up to £2,500 or more for a full band. Line-up size matters most, then the date and extras such as a céilí caller or a longer set. Every quote includes travel, so nothing is added later.

Every act's page has video and audio of the musicians who would actually play, their repertoire and written reviews from people who have booked them. It's the easiest way to check the style and the atmosphere before you commit.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

The category covers traditional trad groups, céilí bands with a caller, Irish folk and ballad singers, and Celtic rock and Irish party bands that also play modern covers. Each act's page shows its style, line-up and song list.

Yes. Céilí bands come with a caller who explains each dance and walks guests through the steps, so nobody needs to know them in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room dancing together.

Most do. Full bands bring their own PA and lighting; acoustic duos and trios need very little. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a solo singer or duo to £2,500 or more for a full band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most acts are happy to learn a special request with enough notice, whether that's a traditional air for the ceremony, a ballad for the first dance or a family favourite. Mention it when you enquire.

As early as you can. St Patrick's weekend is the busiest time of year for Irish acts, and the best bands are often booked months ahead. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“The Flying Finns were absolutely brilliant and exactly what we were after. This was a big corporate party for a young audience and they were fun and a modern take on a ceilidh band. I highly recommend them for any event as they would be great regardless of audience.”

“Our band The Natural Born Sinners, were absolutely fantastic! Never a quiet dance floor and our guests all commented on how amazing they were. Especially loved the country vibe, gave it something extra special! Thanks for making our wedding night amazing, we had an absolute ball. Loved every song - they kept asking for requests but we didn’t need to as every song was a hit. Would 100% recommend.”
