Irish Bands in the East of England

Irish bands covering the whole of the East of England

Finding the right Irish band is easier when you can see every option in one place. This page covers all of the East of England, from Bury St Edmunds, King's Lynn, Chelmsford, Luton, St Albans and Cambridge, and every act listed travels to venues across the region for weddings, St Patrick's Day parties and family celebrations.

Across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, the Irish bands listed here play weddings, St Patrick's Day parties and family celebrations. Use the area links lower down if you'd like a list narrowed to one part of the East of England.

Venues across the East of England that our acts know well include Haughley Park Barn and Hautbois Hall, Crondon Park and Wrest Park, and Chenies Manor House and Childerley Barn. Every venue has its own space, power supply and finish time, and we'll check those with the act for you.

Across the East of England you can choose from traditional trad and céilí bands, Irish party bands and Irish singers. Most will take a few requests ahead of the day, and many can learn a special song if you ask.

Hireaband has been booking live entertainment since 1999. Every band listed here covers the East of England, and PA, lighting and travel are included in the quote you receive. Use the instant quote button on this page to check prices and availability for your date.

What to know:

  • Budget £600 to £2,500 for most bookings
  • Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel
  • Travel within the East of England is never added on later
  • Many acts offer longer or extra sets if you need them
  • Every booking is covered by a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Most acts perform two or three sets, with playlist music or a break in between. Share your running order when you enquire, including any special moments, and we'll build the quote around it.

Smaller line-ups typically start from around £600, while bigger acts can reach £2,500 or more. Summer Saturdays and December are the busiest dates. The price in your quote includes PA, lighting and travel, so it won't change once you've booked.

Each act's page carries real video, audio, a song list and reviews from previous clients. A couple of clips will tell you far more about how an act works a room than any description can.

Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.

FAQs

The category covers traditional trad groups, céilí bands with a caller, Irish folk and ballad singers, and Celtic rock and Irish party bands that also play modern covers. Each act's page shows its style, line-up and song list.

Yes. Céilí bands come with a caller who explains each dance and walks guests through the steps, so nobody needs to know them in advance. It's one of the best ways to get a whole room dancing together.

Most do. Full bands bring their own PA and lighting; acoustic duos and trios need very little. Larger line-ups need floor space and power nearby, so it's worth checking both with your venue, along with any sound limiter.

From around £600 for a solo singer or duo to £2,500 or more for a full band. The number of musicians, the date and the length of the booking make the biggest difference, and travel is always included in the quote.

Most acts are happy to learn a special request with enough notice, whether that's a traditional air for the ceremony, a ballad for the first dance or a family favourite. Mention it when you enquire.

As early as you can. St Patrick's weekend is the busiest time of year for Irish acts, and the best bands are often booked months ahead. For other dates, a few months' notice is usually plenty.

“We would like to thank Karl and the team for a fantastic evening, they were professional, entertaining, fun and easy to follow the dance moves. The communication was also great from the band, always taking our comments into consideration. It was a fabulous evening reception and we would strongly recommend to our friends and wider family! Thank you!”

“I was dubious booking before I had heard them properly but was THRILLED with their performance. They made the evening, they were friendly, lively, play every type of music and a proper treat. I would highly recommend them and now have to find an excuse for another party to get them back a second time! Thank you Flying Finns!”

“We just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you so much to you and the rest of Lanigans Shindig for playing a fantastic gig at our wedding last month! We had an absolutely amazing time, and you guys were the perfect end to the perfect day. We hope you had as much fun as we did, everyone thought you were brilliant. Thank you too, for the wonderful collection of CD's. It's a lovely reminder of the day.”

“I booked the Scene for my Sons Wedding, I was a bit worried that their style of music wouldn't get everyone on the dance floor but how wrong could I have been? The dance floor was full all night and the whole family have a lifetime of memories. Thanks, Lads!”
