Funk & Soul Bands in Liverpool
Book a funk and soul band in Liverpool
If you want a packed dance floor, funk and soul is one of the safest choices you can make. Bands across Liverpool play everything from sixties Motown to seventies disco and present-day soul-pop, and they're booked for weddings, office parties and celebrations of every size.
Whether your event is near the city centre, Southport and the Albert Dock or elsewhere in Liverpool, the bands on this page cover the whole area. Local venues include Blackstock Market, Sefton Palm House and Ullet Road Unitarian Church — if you're still choosing, it's worth asking where a band would set up and whether there's a sound limiter.
Within funk and soul there's a real choice: sixties Motown and Stax, seventies funk and disco, eighties soul-pop, or current soul and neo-soul. Most bands move between these across the night, but each has its own emphasis, and their song lists show it clearly.
We've been booking live bands since 1999, and every funk and soul act on this page covers Liverpool. Travel is built into the quote, the band brings the PA and lights it needs, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.
The essentials:
- Typical cost: from around £1,000 for a smaller line-up to £3,500 or more for a large band with horns, depending on date and set times
- Line-ups from four-piece bands to eight or nine-piece bands with a full horn section
- Two live sets plus a DJ playlist between and after sets as standard with most bands
- Travel, PA and lighting are included in every quote
- Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund
Guest numbers and the size of the room decide most of it. A five-piece is the most popular choice and suits most weddings and parties. For a large ballroom or a crowd of 200 or more, a seven to nine-piece with horns and backing vocals fills the space properly. Tell us the venue and numbers and we'll suggest what tends to work.
Most funk and soul bookings fall between about £1,000 and £3,500. The number of musicians is the biggest factor, especially horns and extra singers, followed by the date — Saturdays in summer and December are the busiest. Travel is included in the quote, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay.
Rather than a generic demo, each band's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio, a song list and client reviews. Between them you'll get a clear sense of the sound and the show well before the day.
Enter your date and venue in the instant quote button for live pricing and availability. After you book, we look after the contract, deposit and details, and keep in touch right up to the event. You also get a 14-day change-of-mind refund and an emergency contact number to use on the day.
