70s Tribute Acts & Bands in the North East

70s tribute acts across the North East

Finding the right 70s tribute act is easier when you can see every option in one place. This page covers all of the North East, from Hexham, Durham, Gateshead and Stockton-on-Tees, and every act listed travels to venues across the region for 70s nights, birthdays and themed parties.

Our listings for the North East take in Durham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumberland. Each of those areas has its own page too, which you'll find in the links further down, but the acts here will travel to any of them.

Venues across the North East that our acts know well include Doxford Barns and Hardwick Hall Hotel, Jesmond Dene House and Middlesbrough Town Hall, and Newton Hall and Dalton Old Pump House. Every venue has its own space, power supply and finish time, and we'll check those with the act for you.

Not every 70s tribute act does the same job. Within this category you'll find solo tributes and full bands recreating the biggest names and hits of the 70s, and knowing the feel you want for your party makes the choice much easier.

We've been booking 70s tribute acts since 1999, and every act on this page travels across the North East. PA, lighting and travel are built into the quote, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

At a glance:

  • Most 70s tribute acts cost between £500 and £2,000
  • PA, lighting and travel are included in the price you're quoted
  • One page covering every area of the North East
  • Popular acts book up early for busy dates, so enquire soon
  • A 14-day change-of-mind refund comes with every booking

Start with the space and the guest numbers. A smaller line-up suits an intimate room or a venue with a sound limiter, while a larger act fills a ballroom or marquee. Tell us the venue and numbers and we'll suggest what tends to work.

Expect to pay from around £500 up to £2,000 or more for a larger line-up. The act, the date and your set times make the biggest difference. Every quote includes PA, lighting and travel, so nothing is added later.

Rather than a generic demo, every act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio and a song list. Underneath are reviews from clients, often at venues you'll recognise.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

ABBA is the best-known, alongside Queen, Elton John and Rod Stewart tributes and disco shows built around the dance-floor hits of the decade.

That's usually the point — ABBA and disco in particular are some of the most reliable dance-floor fillers there are.

Yes — a marquee or a large room at home is a common setting, and a solo tribute in particular needs very little space. The same act can just as easily play a hotel function room or a social club the next weekend.

Usually, yes. Solo and duo tributes need only a small performance area and a standard power supply; for a full band, tell us the room and we'll check the line-up fits comfortably.

Typically £500 to £2,000, depending mainly on whether it's a solo tribute or a full live band, and on the date. Your quote shows exactly what's included.

Most parties book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday or a December date, when the most popular tributes go quickly.

“The Abba girls were very calm and professional. They gave me great confidence that it was going to be a great night even when there were issues with the venues electrics. They did not disappoint. Their performance was amazing, with costumes changes and audience participation. It was a fabulous evening and I won’t hesitate to recommend them. Thank you so much”

“Alan was fantastic, he played 3 sets with the middle one being Elton John which was fabulous. He read the crowd and knew exactly what would get everyone going. We had a mixed age range and everyone loved it. Highly recommend Alan for any party.
Thanks to the team at Hire a Band for organising everything for us.”

“Wayne & Morgan, what can I say. You Had the Cowglen Golf Club bouncing last night. A full house for a top drawer act, you two guys sure know your stuff. The hard work you both put in is amazing. Soul Sensations will be back next year, we can't wait till we're dancing on the ceiling again.”

“Wow just wow.
We have just had Soul Sensations at our Music on the Prom event althrough the weather wasn't the best (wind and rain) these guys put on a cracking show. We have seen Motown acts before but nothing like this. The high energy, the dance moves, the vocals, the harmonising - oh my the harmonising. What a show, what a performance, what a day. We would highly recommend Soul Sensations and hopefully we will see them again at Music on the Prom. Just get them booked!”

“Well what can I say. Hire a band and absolute Abba well easy to communicate with. Debbie and the others from the Abba tribute were a pleasure to have in our home and they truly made our birthday celebration.
Everyone at our party really enjoyed the group and they got everyone dancing and singing. I cannot recommend Hire a band and Absolute Abba enough. I was concerned about hiring a band from the internet but I really need not worry, everything went smoothly.”
