70s Tribute Acts in Derbyshire

Book a 70s tribute band in Derbyshire

From function rooms at hotels around Derby and Chesterfield to golf and social clubs near Matlock, and marquees going up in back gardens across Derbyshire, a 70s tribute act in Derbyshire can turn a party into a proper show. Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, themed nights and company celebrations all suit a 70s tribute act — and the act has to work just as well in a village hall as it does in a hotel ballroom.

The 70s is the decade of the dance floor: ABBA, disco and glam rock are made for parties, and a 70s night gives guests an easy theme to dress up for. Our 70s tribute acts cover ABBA, Queen, Elton John, Rod Stewart, the Bee Gees, Chic and the disco era, from solo performers singing to backing tracks through to full live bands, most performing in costume as part of the show. Acts on our books include Abbatones, Arrival, Absolute ABBA Tribute, Flash – A Tribute to Queen, The Essential Elton John, The Essential Rod Stewart, Chic 2 Chic, Disco Inferno and The Essential Four Seasons.

Hireaband has been booking live entertainment for parties and private events since 1999. Every act listed here travels to Derbyshire as standard, and most bring their own PA and lighting and set up and clear away on the night — use the instant quote button on this page to check pricing, availability and exactly what's included for your date.

Derbyshire has a wide spread of party venues, from The West Mill and Donington Park Farmhouse to Osmaston Park, alongside hotels, golf clubs and village halls around Derby and Chesterfield. Whatever the setting, we can match the size of the act to the space, from a solo tribute in a function room to a full band in a marquee.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: £500 to £2,000, depending on line-up, date and season
  • Your quote shows exactly what's included, from travel to PA and lighting
  • Line-ups from solo tribute artists to full live tribute bands
  • Most parties book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday or December
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Start with the space you have. In a function room, a pub or a marquee in the garden, a solo tribute singing to backing tracks gives you the full show for the lowest cost. For a ballroom, a big hall or a crowd that wants live musicians on stage, a duo or full tribute band is the better fit. We can usually tell you what has worked in similar venues before.

Expect to pay somewhere between £500 and £2,000. The biggest factor is the line-up: a solo tribute to backing tracks costs less than a full live band. The date matters too, with Saturdays in summer and December in highest demand, while weekday and off-season dates often cost less. Your quote lists exactly what's included, with no extras added later.

You don't have to take anyone's word for it. Each act's page has video and audio of the real show, their full song list, and reviews from people who have booked them before. Watch a few clips, check the costumes and the voice, and read what other hosts said about the night itself.

Getting a price takes seconds: add your date and venue to the instant quote. After you book, we look after the paperwork, the deposit and every detail with the act, and stay on hand until the night itself. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, plus an emergency line on the night in case anything needs sorting.

FAQs

ABBA is the best-known, alongside Queen, Elton John and Rod Stewart tributes and disco shows built around the dance-floor hits of the decade.

That's usually the point — ABBA and disco in particular are some of the most reliable dance-floor fillers there are.

Yes — a marquee or a large room at home is a common setting, and a solo tribute in particular needs very little space. The same act can just as easily play a hotel function room or a social club the next weekend.

Usually, yes. Solo and duo tributes need only a small performance area and a standard power supply; for a full band, tell us the room and we'll check the line-up fits comfortably.

Typically £500 to £2,000, depending mainly on whether it's a solo tribute or a full live band, and on the date. Your quote shows exactly what's included.

Most parties book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday or a December date, when the most popular tributes go quickly.

“Fantastic! They tailored the set to our needs (we did an 80's themed Charity Ball). They were full of energy and got everyone up dancing, including a full "Locomotion" around the room. They kept us informed and worked well with our DJ, getting ready and set up beforehand. They were all polite and just a great band.”

“James went above and beyond for our night, he had the audience up dancing and singing for the full show. I would highly recommend the Essential Rod Stewart to anyone looking to book.”

“Wow just wow.
We have just had Soul Sensations at our Music on the Prom event althrough the weather wasn't the best (wind and rain) these guys put on a cracking show. We have seen Motown acts before but nothing like this. The high energy, the dance moves, the vocals, the harmonising - oh my the harmonising. What a show, what a performance, what a day. We would highly recommend Soul Sensations and hopefully we will see them again at Music on the Prom. Just get them booked!”

“Well what can I say. Hire a band and absolute Abba well easy to communicate with. Debbie and the others from the Abba tribute were a pleasure to have in our home and they truly made our birthday celebration.
Everyone at our party really enjoyed the group and they got everyone dancing and singing. I cannot recommend Hire a band and Absolute Abba enough. I was concerned about hiring a band from the internet but I really need not worry, everything went smoothly.”
