XY Duo

XY Duo were absolutely stunning at our small, intimate Cornwall wedding. Their voices are incredible, their arrangements brilliant, and we couldn't stop listening to them! They'd been our favourite pick when we checked the video and audio samples, and of course live and in-person was even better and brought back the joy of live music (during the pandemic!). Having them at our wedding really made us feel like it was such an exclusive, VIP-style occasion and our guests and even the staff were all in awe of them. Everyone wanted to know how we found them, where they were from, whether we'd picked the songs and so on. We loved their silky smooth vocals and dynamic range, giving us such a smorgasbord of sounds. They're also lovely performers - great to watch and to listen to. We'd love to hear some of their own songwriting if we were to have an opportunity to book them again!

XY Duo are such an amazing duo - who were kind and charming on the day and their sets were absolutely stunning. I couldn’t see the duo before the ceremony (bride) and when I first heard them, I thought it was a recording playing! Our wedding venue then told me it was my hired band and I nearly fell off my chair! They sound even better in real life!! The songs we requested were beautifully covered and we were so overwhelmed with emotion by how amazing they sounded. Everyone on the day was complimenting them (gushing, to be honest!) and even two months after the day, it’s the most talked-about thing of our wedding!! They made our ceremony perfect and our first dance extra special. I loved that they even took a moment of their time to congratulate us and ask us if there was anything else we wanted from them! Very professional and yet so down to earth!

We hired the band ‘XY Duo’ and they outperformed themselves - we were so overwhelmed by how beautiful they made our wedding! They played two sets - our ceremony and our first dance and they made the affair classic, fun and laid-back - exactly what we wanted! They played our requested songs beautifully and even better than what we had expected! No dramas at all! Couldn’t have gone more smoothly and we got compliments all day (and continue to get them, two months after the wedding!) about how great this band are!

The XY Duo were absolutely brilliant and fitted in perfectly to the feel of Helen's birthday party. The two of them are a fantastically talented duo and were so courteous and polite to all our guests. We have had so many comments from our guests who all couldn't believe our luck in finding them - they now have a new fan base of about 150 people in Stoke, with Helen and I at the top of the list. We will keep our eye on iTunes and the music press and look forward to hearing more about them in the future.

The duo were absolutely fantastic. They really made our wedding ceremony special and were even happy to be requested songs to prepare and perform for the day - one unusual request was for the congregation to sing a secular 'hymn' - in this case 'Stand by Me' - the duo performed it amazingly but also encouraged everyone to sing, which really lightened the atmosphere - exactly what we wanted. Our wedding guests were also really impressed - everyone kept saying how good they were.

Truly unique and delicately personal, you captivated us all and were the perfect compliment to the beginning, middle and end of our day!

Absolutely fantastic, very professional. A beautiful voice which was even better than the video. We booked them for 1 hr and to sing our first dance song. It is a memory that I will never forget. All the guests really enjoyed the music as they sang songs from all genres and did it extremely well. Very talented. We are very pleased that we booked them and could not have asked for more.

Thanks again for doing the set, it was so amazing. You had people in tears and you've definitely increased your fan base!

XY Duo were simply amazing. Firstly, Joe was great to organise the day with and he liaised with the venue planners and our celebrant to deal with all technical matters and the order of service-Joe also kindly agreed to manage the recorded music parts of the ceremony and co-ordinated having their equipment moved to the various locations at our venue where they would play which simply made life so much easier. Secondly, Joe and Bekka absolutely looked the part (very cool chic-and what a dress Bekka!) and their performances were simply terrific - all the songs they learned for us hit the exact tone we wanted for our day and their first 'relaxed' set for the reception instantly drew a lot of praise from our guests. Their second 'upbeat' set for the first dance and onwards had everyone singing and dancing along and really got the party started. We would definitely recommend Joe and Bekka to anyone else-we know already that our Chateau venue will be recommending them to future wedding couples for sure.

All in all we are extremely happy with our service from Hireaband and XY Duo. Many thanks Joe and Bekka for being such an important part of our day and for being such nice people to dance and sing along with afterwards!

XY duo are just phenomenal. Joe was so professional and helpful in the run up to our wedding day, chatting through things personally with me on the phone. They sang a beautiful surprise song for me to walk down the aisle to and were very helpful and discreet in putting the surprise together - even hiding in the church vestry so the groom didn't suspect a thing! They have flawless voices and sang a brilliant variety of songs for our drinks reception, getting our guests up and dancing even at 3pm!
I would recommend them in a flash and cannot thank them enough for adding such magic to our day.
