Wedding Entertainment in the North East

Wedding acts across the North East

The North East covers a lot of ground, from Stockton-on-Tees, Jesmond, Hexham and Darlington. Our wedding acts travel right across the region, so wherever your wedding is, you'll find acts on this page who already know the venues, the roads and the local crowds. They're booked for ceremonies, drinks receptions and evening parties.

This region page covers Durham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumberland. If you already know which area your venue is in, the links below take you to the page for that area, with venues and acts picked for it.

Popular venues across the region include Rushpool Hall, Wylam Brewery, Ellingham Hall, Black Horse Beamish, Judges Country House Hotel and The Vermont Hotel. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we can usually say which acts have played there before.

Not every wedding act does the same job. Within this category you'll find wedding bands, DJs, solo singers, acoustic duos, string quartets, harpists, magicians and roaming acts, and knowing the feel you want for your wedding makes the choice much easier.

We've been booking wedding acts since 1999, and every act on this page travels across the North East. Travel, plus PA and lighting where relevant are built into the quote, and you can check your date and price straight away with the instant quote button.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: £300 to £4,000, depending on line-up, date and how long the act plays
  • Always included: travel, plus PA and lighting where relevant, in every quote
  • Acts travel to venues right across the North East
  • Summer Saturdays and December dates book up first
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Most acts perform two or three sets, with playlist music or a break in between. Share your running order when you enquire, including any special moments, and we'll build the quote around it.

Smaller line-ups typically start from around £300, while bigger acts can reach £4,000 or more. Summer Saturdays and December are the busiest dates. The price in your quote includes travel, plus PA and lighting where relevant, so it won't change once you've booked.

Rather than a generic demo, every act's page shows the actual line-up you'd be booking, with videos, audio and a song list. Underneath are reviews from clients, often at venues you'll recognise.

Use the instant quote button on this page to see prices and availability for your date. Once you've chosen an act, we handle the contract, the deposit and the arrangements, and stay in touch through to the day. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, and an emergency contact line is available on the day if anything needs sorting quickly.

FAQs

Wedding Entertainment is the full range — live bands, solo singers, duos, acoustic musicians and more — so you can compare every option in one place rather than committing to one format first.

It varies a lot by format — a solo singer or acoustic duo typically starts from around £300, whereas a live band can be anything from £1,200 all the way to £4,000 and over, depending on line-up size. Travel is always included in every quote.

Yes — solo acts and duos are one of the most popular choices for smaller weddings, ceremonies or where budget or space is limited, and they're booked through the same instant-quote process.

Yes, every act listed here travels to the North East as standard, with travel costs already included in the quote you receive.

Many acoustic acts and duos can cover ceremony music as well as an evening set — check each act's own page for what's included, or ask us directly when you enquire.

Most couples book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday — earlier is generally safer the bigger the act, since full bands get booked up first.

“We just wanted to drop a quick email to say a massive thank you to you all for making our wedding day so special. It was absolutely perfect for us, and we received so many compliments from our guests on everything. We will share photos of the day in due course with you all, but in the meantime, please accept our heartfelt thanks for everything you have worked so hard on. Love from Mr and Mrs Coutts ❤”

“The Shakers were phenomenal! They had great energy all night and curated the best setlist for our mostly American audience. We were able to pick a short list of songs we especially wanted to hear, and a short list of do-not-play, which made us feel like we had the right amount of input to the big day. We had countless guests shaking their hands and applauding them by the end of the night - the whole group was so talented, we especially loved the saxophone solo in the middle of the dancefloor!”

“The website was easy to navigate with follow up contact from first view til the event. The band were absolutely fabulous! There were people from age seven to into their seventies and they all commented on a great band and a real mix of music to keep everyone on their feet. It was banging! I'd highly recommend them and have already started letting people know where to find them. Thanks so much for making our anniversary party so memorable..”

“The Hartbeats played at our wedding in the evening. They set up quickly and without fuss. They confessed later on that they’d never heard the song we requested for our first dance (by a band called Blind Pilot), however, they played it perfectly and we couldn’t have been happier with it! Guests were dancing and singing all night long to the band, and then to the DJ set afterwards. They played a big part in entertaining our guests in the evening, and we would recommend.”

“Declan was amazing! Reached out before the wedding and discussed the songs and everything was perfect during the ceremony and danced at the drinks reception. Can’t thank him enough for making our day go so effortlessly well!”

“Brightside were amazing! Great communication from beginning to week of our wedding! They arrived before our agreed time and they worked with our catering company in where to set up etc. We asked for live music and DJ in between sets and they did amazing! We have had so many compliments and how good the band were and also passed on the information for recommendations! So glad we picked these guys! Thank you!!!”
