Washingborough Hall sits just outside Lincoln, a Georgian country house with its own gardens and a proper country-house feel just a few minutes from the cathedral. Exclusive use here means run of the house from late morning through to the following day — all the private rooms and sole use of the grounds are yours, with 20 bedrooms on site including a complimentary bridal suite for the night itself.
Where the band plays
Washingborough has a few rooms of different scale — the smaller Sibthorpe Room, the Dining Room and the Winston Room (the hall's orangery), which can also be combined for a larger evening reception. Which one you're in shapes what we bring: the combined Winston and Dining Room space gives proper room for a full band set-up and a decent dancefloor, while the smaller Sibthorpe Room suits a more intimate evening. Confirm your room booking with the Hall ahead of time and let us know — it makes a real difference to how we plan power and positioning.

With run of the house as standard, a Washingborough wedding has a relaxed, unhurried shape to it — ceremony and drinks reception in the gardens if the day allows, a wedding breakfast in whichever room suits your numbers, and guests free to explore the grounds between the formal moments rather than being confined to one space. Being minutes from Lincoln and its cathedral also gives photographers a proper backdrop option without a long drive. As the evening arrives and the room turns over for dancing, we build the set to suit whichever space you've booked — filling the combined rooms for a bigger party, or keeping things a little more intimate in the Sibthorpe Room — so the night closes out the day at the right scale rather than overwhelming a smaller room or underplaying a big one.
