Just south of Lancaster at Bailrigg, Lancaster House is a modern hotel built around its wedding trade — two purpose-built suites, function-hotel comforts (rooms, health club, parking) and a location that's easy for guests travelling up the M6.
Where the band plays
The Bowland Suite is the larger of the two spaces, taking ceremonies up to 200 and reception seating for 130–150, with room enough for a full-size band setup, dancefloor and a proper PA rig without feeling cramped. The smaller Dalton Suite (ceremony 80–100, reception 60–80) suits a more intimate day, and we can scale the band down accordingly — trio or four-piece rather than the full line-up. Both rooms have straightforward vehicle access for load-in, and as a purpose-built function hotel the electrics and turnaround between ceremony, meal and evening party are set up to work without a hitch.
How the day flows
Because everything — ceremony, wedding breakfast, evening party, and rooms for the night — happens under one roof, the day runs smoothly for guests: no convoy across Lancaster, no lost time between venues. Many couples build in a good gap after the meal for guests to change and freshen up (some use the hotel's Sandpiper Health Club, with its pool and hot tub, the morning after), which gives us time to get the band in, soundchecked and ready to open the evening properly as the room turns over from dining to dancing.
