Forrest Hills is a rustic, eco-friendly venue at Ellel, just south of Lancaster off the M6 — exclusive use of the grounds for the whole weekend, with a fountain lake, golf course and woodland setting that comes into its own at sunset from the patio.
Where the band plays
The venue takes 100 for a seated wedding breakfast, up to 150 for a reception, and up to 250 evening guests — plenty of room for a full band and dancefloor, and the license runs to 1am so there's a proper evening to fill. A marquee option extends seating further if your numbers are bigger than the main space allows. Because it's exclusive use, we get straightforward access for load-in without working around another event, and the venue's own bar and entertainment licensing means the electrics and timings are already set up for live music.
How the day flows
With access from Friday afternoon through to Sunday morning, most couples spread the day out rather than rushing it — ceremony and photographs making the most of the lake and woodland light, a relaxed wedding breakfast, then the room turned round for the evening as the light drops over the golf course. External catering is allowed, so the food side of the day is flexible; the band slot tends to sit later in the evening once the dancefloor's been cleared and any earlier background music has wound down.
