Fazeley Studios began life in 1876 as a Unitarian chapel and Sunday school, designed by the Birmingham architect George Ingall, and its conversion into a wedding and events venue has kept the building's Victorian bones firmly on show. High, skylit ceilings, whitewashed walls and outsized windows carry through every room, giving the whole place a bright, genuinely blank-canvas feel rather than the heavily dressed look of a purpose-built function suite.
Where the band plays
Smaller ceremonies of up to 60 guests are usually held in Studio 7, where the original chapel windows, exposed brickwork and wooden floors are left on show. Larger ceremonies, up to 130, move into the Garden Room, with its tall Crittall-style windows and courtyard views. Evening receptions and dancing centre on the Grand Gallery and the Fazeley Room together, seating up to 150 for the wedding breakfast and holding up to 200 once the evening guests arrive. The venue is licensed until midnight, with a possible extension to 1am — worth confirming at the time of booking.
How the day flows
A ceremony in Studio 7 or the Garden Room, depending on numbers, leads into drinks in the courtyard before the wedding breakfast in the Grand Gallery and Fazeley Room, the same space that opens up for the evening's music and dancing once the tables are cleared. Fazeley Studios takes a minimum of 40 day and evening guests, and its fully licensed status covers civil ceremonies as well as the reception, so the whole day can run under one roof.
