This South Eastern based Ceilidh Band is a group of the most talented and vibrant young musicians from the London area and is available to play Irish and Scottish traditional music for any event, from ceilidh dancing and private events, to corporate functions. Their standard lineup is a 4 piece band but this can be increased up to 6 piece for an even more energetic and lively sound.
Ceilidh dances are an extremely popular highlight of many a wedding. Fun, sociable and easy for anyone to join in with, they provide a focal point for the event as well as being a great way for your guests to interact and get to know each other! We make it our mission to tailor our performance to your needs. We also have a singer! So if you’d like some of those old favourite songs, we can add that to the set list as well.

Champion’s Ceilidh Band performs regularly for corporate events and functions. We have performed on many occasion for the Irish Embassy in London, Irish Cultural Centre, Burns Night Ceilidhs at Cecil Sharp House, and for Tourism Ireland. Our members have been involved at productions at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Glastonbury Festival, The Royal Albert Hall, and The National Theatre. All members have released a multitude of albums which have all received high praise from music critics.

The Irish Arts Foundation has worked with the team from Champion’s Ceilidh Band on a number of occassions – its a partnership we intend to maintain. When we need top class performers in the south of England Champion’s Ceilidh Band are always high on the list. In the world of folk and traditional music you need to be careful: there are a lot of ‘pretenders to the the throne’. The guys from Champion’s Ceilidh Band have the distinction of being on top of their game musically as well as professionally – a rare blend.

We booked Champion’s Ceilidh Band for our wedding in Kent in July 2016. Tad was absolutely fantastic from the off, providing a speedy and competitive quote, and answering any queries I had all the way up to the wedding. The team arrived on time to set up, were very mindful of not interrupting any of the proceedings, and gave us a wonderful night of music and dancing. They were always accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you all!
The Ceilidh was great – all the guests loved it and we did too. It made the evening! The band were so flexible and they changed the sets to make it work for the venue and what the guests were doing. The room was pretty hot so non-stop dancing wasn’t really possible. Throughout the process they were professional and always contactable, and it was really good to speak with Tad on the phone. The music was really beautiful too, and my dad (an Irish accordion player) was impressed. He said that the sound was fantastic and created a great atmosphere.
Well what a cracker of a céilí that was! Champion’s Ceilidh Band played for us at our wedding and the buckets of sweat that were dripping off our guests in the chill of the evening just about says it all about how fantastic they were! The music – fantastic, the caller – brilliant (and hilarious) and communication leading up to the day – couldn’t have asked for more. We (and all our guests – they are still talking about it!) had an absolute ball at the céilí you put on for us and we highly recommend Champion’s Ceilidh Band!
