70s Tribute Acts in Hertfordshire

Book a 70s tribute band in Hertfordshire

A 70s tribute act in Hertfordshire is one of the easiest ways to give a party a theme and a proper centrepiece. Hotels and function rooms around St Albans and Watford, social clubs near Hertford and marquees at home across Hertfordshire all make good settings for birthdays, anniversaries, reunions and company celebrations.

The 70s is the decade of the dance floor: ABBA, disco and glam rock are made for parties, and a 70s night gives guests an easy theme to dress up for. Our 70s tribute acts cover ABBA, Queen, Elton John, Rod Stewart, the Bee Gees, Chic and the disco era, from solo performers singing to backing tracks through to full live bands, most performing in costume as part of the show. Acts on our books include Abbatones, Arrival, Absolute ABBA Tribute, Flash – A Tribute to Queen, The Essential Elton John, The Essential Rod Stewart, Chic 2 Chic, Disco Inferno and The Essential Four Seasons.

We've been booking live entertainment since 1999, and every act on this page covers Hertfordshire. Most bring their own sound and lighting and handle the set-up and pack-down themselves. The instant quote button shows the price, availability and exactly what's included for your date.

Across Hertfordshire, tribute nights take place everywhere from country houses to hotel suites and private marquees. Popular venues in Hertfordshire include Pendley Manor Hotel, Chenies Manor House and North Hill Farm, and our acts regularly travel to parties in and around St Albans and Watford. Tell us where you're holding yours and we'll suggest acts that suit the room.

The essentials:

  • Typical cost: £500 to £2,000, depending on line-up, date and season
  • Your quote shows exactly what's included, from travel to PA and lighting
  • Line-ups from solo tribute artists to full live tribute bands
  • Most parties book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday or December
  • Every booking carries a 14-day change-of-mind refund

Space and budget matter more than guest numbers. A solo tribute artist singing to high-quality backing tracks fits comfortably into a function room, a pub or a marquee at home, and is the most affordable way to put on a show. A duo or a full live tribute band adds live musicianship and more volume for a bigger room or a bigger crowd. If you tell us the space — hotel room, club function suite, marquee at home — we can usually say what has worked there before.

Most bookings fall between £500 and £2,000. Solo tributes performing to backing tracks sit towards the lower end and full live tribute bands towards the upper end, with the day and the time of year making up the rest of the difference — a weekday date can cost less than a Saturday in summer or December. Your quote sets out exactly what's included, so the figure you're given is the figure you pay.

Before you book, watch and listen. Every act here has its own page with genuine video and audio of their performance, a complete set list and written reviews from previous clients, so you can compare how each tribute looks and sounds and choose the one that suits your guests.

Getting a price takes seconds: add your date and venue to the instant quote. After you book, we look after the paperwork, the deposit and every detail with the act, and stay on hand until the night itself. Every booking includes a 14-day change-of-mind refund, plus an emergency line on the night in case anything needs sorting.

FAQs

ABBA is the best-known, alongside Queen, Elton John and Rod Stewart tributes and disco shows built around the dance-floor hits of the decade.

That's usually the point — ABBA and disco in particular are some of the most reliable dance-floor fillers there are.

Yes — a marquee or a large room at home is a common setting, and a solo tribute in particular needs very little space. The same act can just as easily play a hotel function room or a social club the next weekend.

Usually, yes. Solo and duo tributes need only a small performance area and a standard power supply; for a full band, tell us the room and we'll check the line-up fits comfortably.

Typically £500 to £2,000, depending mainly on whether it's a solo tribute or a full live band, and on the date. Your quote shows exactly what's included.

Most parties book several months ahead, sooner for a summer Saturday or a December date, when the most popular tributes go quickly.

“Alan was fantastic, he played 3 sets with the middle one being Elton John which was fabulous. He read the crowd and knew exactly what would get everyone going. We had a mixed age range and everyone loved it. Highly recommend Alan for any party.
Thanks to the team at Hire a Band for organising everything for us.”

“Wayne & Morgan, what can I say. You Had the Cowglen Golf Club bouncing last night. A full house for a top drawer act, you two guys sure know your stuff. The hard work you both put in is amazing. Soul Sensations will be back next year, we can't wait till we're dancing on the ceiling again.”

“Fantastic! They tailored the set to our needs (we did an 80's themed Charity Ball). They were full of energy and got everyone up dancing, including a full "Locomotion" around the room. They kept us informed and worked well with our DJ, getting ready and set up beforehand. They were all polite and just a great band.”

“Thank you all for an amazing night! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her birthday surprise, the group were very exciting and well presented. Tom (stage & sound engineer) was very professional from start to finish. All our guests were full of compliments for the group.”

“Everything was perfect from start of booking to end of performers time on stage. Essentially Cher was absolutely amazing - the feedback from guests was extremely positive. I would have no doubt in recommending this performer, thank you so much x”

“James went above and beyond for our night, he had the audience up dancing and singing for the full show. I would highly recommend the Essential Rod Stewart to anyone looking to book.”
