So what's it really like performing in a succesful Scottish wedding band? We had the great idea of asking some of them. This time it's the turn of The Freshtones to be under the spotlight. Don't worry, they're used to it.

 

What’s the furthest you’ve travelled to play a gig?

We travelled to the Hilton Treetops in Aberdeen for our Hogmanay 2018 gig. Great hotel and a brilliant crowd to play to!

Which is your favourite wedding venue to perform in?

GG’s Yard in Gatehouse of Fleet. A stunning venue in an idyllic location.

Which is your favourite non-wedding venue to perform in?

Maggie May’s in Glasgow. Always a good crowd and a great energy!

Which is your favourite song to perform?

Shivers by Ed Sheeran.

Which is the most popular first dance you’re asked to play?

My Girl by The Temptations. A classic!

What’s the best thing about playing at a wedding?

We love the energy and interaction we get from the audience when we play! It makes our job even more enjoyable and we leave the gig knowing a good night has been had by all.

What’s the worst thing about playing at a wedding?

Load in and load out- lots of heavy equipment to carry and move!!

Apart from booking your band, what’s the best bit of advice you could give a couple planning their wedding?

Take your time to have a look around and see what you would like. Entertainment wise there are many great bands who fit a specific niche as well as many great bands who are brilliant all rounders. Hireaband has an amazing selection of acts to choose from!
